Linda,

Here is the website for Central Michigan University for the digital newspapers. Some of them are free, some require a subscription, but the Saline Observer is free. You can do a search by surname and see what you come up with for your family names. Good luck! - Pat

Linda,

A 2nd great aunt of mine married a Hendershot and lived in Lenawee county. Her maiden name was Georgianna Young, from Saline township. She married Ezra Hendershot in 1861 and they had at least three children. She died in PA in 1906 while visiting her daughter. Ezra passed away in 1903. If you'd like more info, just let me know. Pat

Linda I agree you need to go to Find A Grave. I thought there was an edit spot to change but couldn't find it. Good luck.

Wellington & Ella DePuy
Wellington & Ella should be in the Grand Ledge Oakwood Cemetery not the one located in Eaton Rapids. Ella's Obit in the Grand Ledge Independent has her maiden name as SILSBY. I have the Obit if you would like.

RE: William A. Wilson
Hello,

I tried to find William A Wilson on Find A Grave. There are 958 of them. LOL.

Could you give me his memorial number or what cemetery he is buried in ?

My Mother's maiden is WILSON. My husband's GGrand Mother is a Wilson. We tell everyone that I married my cousin. It's not true.

Find A Grave photos
Hi Linda,

Thank you for all the pictures that you post of grave markers!! I have several ancestors that you have posted pictures for. I am requesting your permission to use them in my genealogy database and a possible book (years from now) that will be given to family members.

The markers are for William L. Rogers, and his wife(s) and some of his children and their spouses.

Thank you again,

Linda Rogers

Me Again,
The smaller stones you are referring to are of William D. Hendershot and his wife Mary. These stones are located in section "B" lot # 22. This William and his wife were born in Pennsylvania and lived in Clinton and his mother's name was Margaret.

RE: William Hendershot
Hello again,

I have two books from the cemetery and the dates you have are correct. He is listed as being born in Tecumseh and dying in Leslie of liver disease. These records show the middle initial in one book as "H" and no initial in the other. The grave sketch shows him buried next to Sarah. Other graves in this lot are of the McKinney family. I'll be going back to the cemetery soon and I'll check on the smaller markers and let you know what I find.

I thought it must a mix up! I added the maiden name Matthews for Grace, but wasn't sure if the Mary Matthews in Oak hill was her mother, so didn't link them.
