RE: Permission To Use Photo
You can certainly use any of the photo's. Thanks for asking. I have submitted an edit for the dates on the memorial.

That is quite a unique family stone. I have not seen one like it. It has the family name etched on the backside, in the same manner it is etched on the frontside. Simple yet beautiful. One big rock!!!!

Paul, You are very welcome. Happy to provide the photos. The Westminster Memorial Park is a beautiful place with hundreds of old trees. We take headstone photos there once a month. Leon

RE: Sources For Bio
Hi Paul,
I got my information about him from a book I have, called "Texas Ranger Biographies, Those who Served, 1910-1921", by Charles H. Harris 111, Frances E. Harris and Louis R. Sadler. It has all the rangers who served during the Mexican Revolution and WW1. Of course I researched other places to try to find more information. I just now checked the bio and someone had added a death certificate which gives his death of "dying from influenza" on February 16, 1919. That was during the bad flu epidemic.

I don't know if you could find out anymore about him or not. If you'd like, I could copy off what's in my book and send it to you.

I transferred her memorial. By the way, I live in Porterville. Do you know if she has a headstone? Linda

You are welcome. And, absolutely. I have no issue with anyone using any of the photos I've posted on Find A grave for non-commercial purposes.

Regarding William Hamrick...
Researching and locating his gravesite took some time and effort, but it was worth it. I only wish there had been a headstone or some sort of marker, but not always the case. Glad to be of service, anytime I can be of assistance here in Houston, let me know. John

RE: Congratulations!
J Paul first of all I didn't know about the top 50 photo request thing until someone told me about it ok it is listed in random order so I think im number 47 out of 50.

Anyway I was shocked to even hear that would be in that group.

As far as the Galloways I know some and I know there are plenty of ones buried in Calloway co so have you done a search on find a grave of Galloways from calloway co ky if so then im sure they are all listed except for the recent couple of year burials.

But I know you said they left in the 1850's to texas but wonder if any stayed behind if so then maybe I can get some info from any living ones here now days.

But would need any info such as names of older ones from calloway co ky.

I've been cleaning out emails and ran across one from March 2012 where you took a photo for me at Oak Hill in Escondido. Somehow I missed it. I wanted to thank you for taking the time and effort to fulfill this request for me. I really appreciate it!
