graves moved from Western to St. Louis
In the latter half of the 1800s, maybe around 1860-1880, the Catholic graves in Western Cemetery in Louisville were moved to St. Louis Cemetery. In your efforts to log some of these graves, have you learned of any records that may still exist as to the actual burials in Western Cemetery for those that were moved?

Years ago when I gathered some info on some St. Louis Cemetery graves, all they had was the burial dates. It seems it wasn't as common to put dates on the tombstones back then. So for those graves that were moved, the burial dates noted in Calvary Cemetery records (maintains St. Louis Cemetery) were only the dates the graves were moved, not the original burial dates in Western Cemetery.

Thank you for posting the page for Fr. Silas. He was an excellent pastor in Peoria, IL and remembered by many over the years. I was happy to post a few photos on this page and I thank you very much for the great work that you do.

Herman Ruby in St Michael
Hello,
Herman in St. Michael is incorrectly linked to Charles and Clara Ruby. They, along with their son Herman Roy Ruby, are buried in Frankfort Cemetery. I am aware that someone else may have linked them, but wanted to let you know this. Thanks, Kate

I don't think that I could find one either ....that is why I sent you a SAC ... instead of just making the edit. I'm sorry ... I should have been more specific. I just thought that you could add it to the bio that she was married to him ... Thank you and God bless .

I think I found a duplicate for this woman at St. Michaels cemetery. Same name & birthdates.

Thanks for doing this so we can find our relatives

J C Lawson
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for posting this memorial. The Lawsons are distant cousins.

Taking a close look at this headstone, I was puzzled by the words "Vilinder V.A" Notice there is a light, but visible line in cursive that reads "wife of." A little more research revealed Vilinder Virginia Lawson was the wife of John C Lawson. I believe this is her stone, not his.

I have submitted edits through the edit link, which you will receive, but I wanted to explain the thought process.

As to whether J C Lawson is actually also buried in the same Union Cemetery, I don't know, but I'm certainly curious.

Your work on memorials and photographs is very much appreciated!

Where is St Michaels?

Since you know the details, please send the Suggest a Correction on 89236707 and use the other box to fix the cemetery.

I suspect there was a merge of two memorials to a Burial Unknown but the cemetery was not updated.

Do you remember where you took the gravestone photo? If so, we could send an SAC to fix the cemetery on his memorial.

RE: Maria Kinzer
Ugh! Mike, I am sorry. This is what happens when I work on my family tree into the wee hours! You are correct, this Maria is Franz's second wife. I was confusing her with the daughter that he had with his first wife. Please disregard my request and thank you for double checking. I'm sorry for putting you through the trouble :)

Sincerely,

Danna

Lynn F. Graham
RE: Jack C. Graham
Mike:

Thanks for the help and idea. Right now I am having trouble getting Jack C Grahams obit out of ancestry.com. I have never had this problem before. Double clicking on the obit is not saving it to my pictures/documents. He also had an obit in the Paducah and Fulton newspapers, but still no luck saving it to my pic's on any of the three obits. I will keep trying. I think I may have to get a new printer/scanner. Will send it if I succeed in saving it to a place I can scan.

Thanks again,

Lynn
