In memory
J. M. Wilks
I saw the note on J. M. Wilks's memorial that you provided about him being moved to the Singleton Family Cemetery (aka Travis Peak Cemetery & Post Oak Bend Cemetery) from the Pace Bend Cemetery when the dam was built for Lake Travis and the land was going to be flooded in the 1930's. Can you tell me please what your source for this story was? Do you know of a list of other persons that were also moved to this cemetery at that same time? There are several other Wilks family members that have headstones in the Singleton Family cemetery which are all in a row, the first date of death on these (besides J. M.'s) was 1872. This is my husband's family and we are trying to determine if all these family members might have been moved at the same time from the Pace Bend Cemetery. Thanks for any information that you can give me. L Varner

Yes, I remember you were from the Sylvester side and me to the Blackwell. Richard's mother was an Oglesby, sister to my 3rd great grandmother.

Feel free to email me.

Hi cousin Mary,
As GGG granddaughter to Benjamin, by son James P., I wish you had found my 2007 posting by name, but you say you are GG by way of Bird, your great grandfather. You have been busy posting today on his parents, and I would love to get them back connected to crossing from Ireland. I wonder if son, Jessie, died young, as I never found anything? I will review both of our postings and see what we can do to get one with everything and links to all 5 children.
Thanks for the quick response
I have never had time to do much research back before Benjamin
