You know, considering the circumstances, I think you've made the perfect compromise. Thank you, Megafluffy.

William Bertram Shaw
31 May 1931 is the correct date of death for William Bertram Shaw. The source for this is the Illinois Deaths and Stillbirth Index, 1916-1947. Also, the June 4th obit from the "Thomson Review" quoted in his Find A Grave article would be more consistent with a death of 31 May, as opposed to a death of almost a month earlier on the 9th of May. I would think the Savanna Times Journal could be used to determine which death date is correct if the Illinois Death & Stillbirth Index is not enough proof. Something has to be done though, as other gedcoms are displaying the wrong date, which is contrary to the principles of accuracy that Find a Grave strives to maintain.

Wesley Gough / Bertha Gough
Hello ~ I found the Gough headstones... I will upload the photos shortly. Just wanted to let you know there are 2 Elmwood Twp cemeteries in Tuscola Co. Michigan. The Goughs are listed in Elmwood Twp Cemetery Hillside, but markers were found in Elmwood Twp Cemetery, GAGETOWN. I reported this to Find A Grave as well.

Eleanor "Ellen" (Settle) Sutton # 68343895
Please have a look at the Eleanor "Ellen" (Settle) Sutton memorial to see the extra information I have added.
I determined the maiden name of "Settle" from the following sources:
Biography of James Douglass Sutton # 71202671;
Death Certificate of James Douglass Sutton (on his memorial);
Death certificate of Rachel (Sutton) Andrews # 68344266;
Death certificate of Jane Augusta (Sutton) Andrews # 68343423;
Historical and Biographical Annals of Ira Samuel Sutton and Mary Edgerly, by Richard L. Johnson, PhD. San Antonio, Texas, March 1, 2011.
Note: I had no space to add Jane Augusta (Sutton) Andrews' death certificate to her memorial, but have added a note telling you where you can find it. I would like to pass on the highly interesting history of the Ira Samuel Sutton family to you, but it would have to be sent as an attachment. On pages 7-38 you will find information on the Nehemiah Sutton family. If you are interested in this document, please send me your email address so I can send it to you. My email address is j.geybels@skynet.be .

Sandy Trudell Duke
Sarah Griffin - Forest Hill Cemetery
Hi,

Looking into your request for a picture of Sarah Griffin d. 1946 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart, MI.

Checking that this may be a duplicate of a Sarah Griffin d. 1919 and the date is entered wrong on the Forest Hill database. I am not finding a death certificate or information for a Sarah Griffin d. 1946. Do you have further information? Thanks!

Sandy

You are so very welcome! I believe her parents are next to them as they all shared the big headstone. I just haven't gotten them out there yet.

Joyce Niswander
Nancy Kaley
I found an obituary for Nancy Kaley. It was published in the Findlay Morning Republican, Findlay, Ohio, on Saturday, Sept 4, 1926. It said that she died Friday afternoon. That would make her date of death as Sept 3,1926.
The cemetery records says that she died 5/27/1926, but was buried on 9/6/1926. That would make it over three months before burial, which seems odd. I believe that the info from the cemetery records is incorrect because it came from the headstone. I would be willing to do some more checking for you.

You're very welcome! Glad I could help! His headstone was covered in leaves and it was muddy so hopefully I can get back out there in the spring and clean it off and get an even better picture for you. Happy Thanksgiving!
