*LOL* I was up in the middle of the night and type date wrong name. That's what I get for going off on a tangent... Somebody emailed me with a bunch of info on Gert's brother, which lead me back to this.

Margaret K. J. Miller
I would love to go back to the reunion. I haven't been in sometime. I and my husband have had so many health problems. His are medical, Heart, lungs, kidney. Mine are caused from hip replacement. During surgery they broke a bone. I had so much pain and the foot on left side would not straighten. I changed bone doctors. He agreed the problem was caused from the hip replacement. New Dr. did surgery on foot. Been a long 14 months but I am walking better.
Is the reunion in August and where? Would love to meet you. Margaret

Joyce, I updated the memorial. However, in your photo captions and virtual flowers, you mistakenly wrote " 1962 " but I know, of course, you meant to write " 1862 "

I would like to thank you for adding the picture of my great-grandma and great-grandpa for me. I was always told they were there but now it's nice to see them.

Thank you so much.

RE: Thank you Thank you
I'm so glad I could help! So many strangers have helped me out in my own family history research and I always love the chance to help someone else out when I can.

Matthew Rogers's grave in Butte, MT
Hi there. I fulfilled the request you left for a photo of the grave of Matthew Rogers in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery of Butte, Montana. There were indeed two other headstones in the plot with the surname for Thomas B. Pearce and Samuel Toy. I've got photos of the individual stones as well as photos standing back showing all three stones and the rest of the lot where Fanny Pierce, Anthony Toy and Albert Toy must be buried as well. If you'd like to make profiles for these other people, I'd be more than happy to stick the photos up as well or if you'd like I could e-mail them to you. Anyhow, hope this helps. - Justin

Thank you for the flowers you left for my dad. Isn't it funny how we find people who remind us of our own family :)

RE: Double Springs Cemetery
Double Springs Cemetery is located at the top of a ridge, on ranch property. If travelling east on Hwy. 12, just before the junction of Hwy. 26,
look for a flagpole on the ridge to the north of the highway. The cemetery is situated between Hwy. 12 and Double Springs Rd. You can access it via the ranch road. Be sure to close the gate behind you, so cattle won't escape.

Hi Joyce,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond... I've been out of town for a few days and only just received your messages. Thank you so much for making the call to Park View for Wilson Richmond and Mary Susan "Susie" Hall. I'm not sure if either of those ones are correct for Susie -- she's been exceptionally hard to track down. She was born in 1898 in Iowa and I think she died of consumption in either 1929 or 1930 in Stockton, CA, but I haven't been unable to find a record of her after the 1920 census record. She also appears to have used her adopted father's last name of Richmond as well at times.

As for English records, I have a worldwide membership to so I have access to all of the English census records back to 1841 and I would be more than happy to look up anything for you if you would like to send me the details. Also, there are a couple of sites like,,, or that are pretty good as well. Also, an easy way to find parish records for England is to go to: I live in London (I'm originally from Iowa), so if your husband's family is from anywhere near London, I can also see what else I can find.

I hope this helps : ) Thanks again for all of your wonderful help in locating Maryan's grave and for looking for her relatives for me -- it was much appreciated!

RE: Walter L Hammond
You are more than welcome. I also added J. Guy Hammond's photo and info to the Covington City Cemetery listing. I don't know how he fits in with your Hammonds, but I went ahead and put him in there. Is it possible that he was a brother to your Walter? There are several years' difference in their ages, but you never know!

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!

Thank you so very much for doing this great act of kindness. California is so far away from Texas and old folks see it even farther away. It is truly appreciated.

Maryan Richmond's grave at Park View Cemetery
Hi Joyce,

Thank you so much for the photo of Maryan's marker! I wasn't even sure if she had a memorial of sorts there as she was cremated, so am absolutely thrilled that there was at least a marker. Thanks as well for letting me know that the staff are helpful there - as I may call to find out if Maryan's husband Wilson Richmond and daughter Mary "Susan" Hall are buried there as well.

Thanks again for all of your help - it means a lot. I live in England so don't get back to America much theses days so it's so lovely to get to see Maryan's final resting place from so far away : )

Kind regards,
AJ Tyson

Pitts and Martins
Yes, Beulah Pitts was my mother's sister and Clarence Martin, her brother. We were all originally from OK and they moved to CA when I was younger. They would come back to OK on vacations and I have such GREAT memories of them. My mother passed 5 years ago. She was the last of her family. They are all gone now. I have taken the project to put as many memorials as I can for my mother's family. They are hillbillies from AR. What a legacy for our family!!! We live in the Phoenix AZ area, if you know of someone who needs anything out this way, give them my email. For the past 13 years I have been on the genealogy research training staff at a large Family History center in Mesa. I get to do this everyday !!

Thank you. I have Edward and Marie Light buried next to each other. That might be why there are two requests.
All of you volunteers do a terrific job.
