I just returned home from Tallahassee, my daughter is now a Seminole....While there I made an attempt to locate relatives (ancestors) at Oakland cemetery, Russell cemetery, as well as Aenon cemetery. I was 1 for 3 in that department.
Russell cemetery proved helpful as Rev. Mumford Russell and his family are there. However, Oakland cemetery was too vast with plot locations for Rev. Eli Russell, his wife Martha, daughter Mary Russell Wilkes and her daughter Hazel Wilkes Miller. Would you know the area or section of Oakland cemetery I might begin my search again in October when I return to Tallahassee.
One last thing, my great-great grandfather Franklin C. Wilkes is said to be at Aenon cemetery, off Blountstown Hwy. Any idea how I might find his grave. Many makers are broken or gone, somebody has to have records of plot locations.
Thanks a million for what you have done so far.
Scott H. Wilkes

Thank you for the gravestone photos for this family. You may have noticed that Ruth Schornherst Breen had a very distinguished career as a long term professor at Florida State University and is a published author.
I was waiting for the gravestone photo for her exact date of birth to give consideration to submitting her name as a famous person to Find A Grave. She was my cousin.
I certainly appreciate your contribution to my family history and this site.

The stone is not very easy to read, so my sister and I will be at Friendship not long after daylight in the morning before it gets too hot. I will see if there is anyway it can be photographed and be read. I will also check to see if it is possible there is an unmarked grave next to her also.

|Cheryl||John & Effie Calhoun|
Hi! I wanted to let you know that I still haven't been able to get out to the cemetery to find John & Effie's graves, but I did do some investigating online and found a bit more information for you in the meantime.
Effie Corine Calhoun (they only spelled Corrine with one 'r' but that could be a typographical error) died in 1954 in Orange County, Florida. If she was living in Sanford at the time, then I'm assuming she was at an Orlando hospital when she passed.
John Caldwell Calhoun died in 1948 in Seminole County, Florida.
I hopefully will be able to take those photos for you sometime in the next week!
