RE: Mary E. Roller Justice
Hi Liz,
Looks like we have cousins out in TN. I think the one who sent me the info and the pictures was named Jeff Justice. I got this a long time ago and am just now putting it into the system.

From what I understand Mary was full blooded Cherokee and I believe he told me her father and mother were also. I have been looking for the packet he sent me but can't find it right now. Hopefully I will find it and can back up my source. He had sent me info on Pocahontas and said we were kin to her as well.

wish I could help you more.
Glenda

RE: Cox-Montgomery families
Susan Velma Cox Wiley was the mother-in-law of my husband's first cousin, Helen Odeone Hancock. Helen's husband was James Clifford Wiley. I don't have any information on the Cox family. Wish I could help you, there are several family trees on ancestry that might be able to help you, though.

Mimi Simpson Davidson
Lewis cemetery
I'm not familiar with the Lewis cemetery. The Lewis' family that I'm connected with traveled with the Simpson's and the Ladd's from Christian county Kentucky in 1852 and settled in Grayson county. I am sitting in my truck at a scout meeting and will look up more info later. This is probably the same family. The Simpson cemetery in Grayson county has a bunch of this family buried there. This cemetery is on private property and I would love to go and see the place also. I will look up info when I get home I would like to see if there is a connection. Mimi

RE: Rebecca Rainey ~ Old Klondike
My first impression, when I looked at the stone in the field, was that it said 'Mrs' ... which is what I passed on to you. Then when I was preparing the photo to post, it became obvious that was it was 'Miss'. The implication, of course, is that she was never married; and whoever it was that had the stone made after her death wanted that made perfectly clear.

As a volunteer photographer, I try to stay out of the genealogy. I have found that descendents typically have preconceived ideas about their ancestors and don't change those ideas readily.

Rebecca Rainey (Dockery?) ~ Old Klondike

I drove back up to the cemetery ... late in the day today. The shadows were growing long by the time I got there; and I was losing the light; but I found a monument (near the Rainey's which I did for you last week). It was placed there to mark the resting place of 'Mrs. Rebecca A Rainey' ... no mention of Dockery; and the dates are right (1817-1894). It's not a very good frame because of the light; but I'll post it to her Find A Grave memorial if you want it.

Mary C Rainey ~ Old Klondike
Mary C Rainey shares a single stone oblisk style monument with William Rainey; and that fact was apparently missed when the inventory of transcriptions was taken (ca 1989 ... I have found instances such as that once in a while).

Anyway ... I have created a Find A Grave memorial for her; and I have transferred management of that memorial over to you. If you will kindly submit a photo request, I will claim it and add a photo for you.

RE: McDaniel Line
Hi Liz,
I haven't been working on my family history for awhile and just saw your message - sorry for the great delay in responding. My great-great grandparents, James Vestal (Jesse) and Kizzie McDaniel are buried in the Pecan Gap cemetery along with one of their sons and daughter-in-law. I have really struggled with finding information on the McDaniel line beyond Jesse. I would love to share information with you!
Thanks,
Ann

Rainey Pictures
You are welcome for the picture of Bulah Rainey. We also took a photo of Andy C Rainey Jr who served in WWII and is near Bulah and Andie. We took photos of three Maynards who appear to be related to the Raineys. Edna Jo (Rainey), John Randall and Laarry R. We have not posted these yet but will today.

RE: Victoria Bingham
Liz, Seems to be the same Victoria Bingham. Recently, my Mother, daughter, and I visited the cemetery where Alabama Church is buried. Sadly, the cemetery is in bad condition; I did, however, photograph Alabama's marker. It would be a joy to share it with you, if you wish a copy. You may respond to me at agsafian@bellsouth.net.

RE: Victoria Bingham, Poplar Cemetery
Ms. Cox, Victoria Bingham was my great-great-grandmother's sister-in-law. John G. Regeon, born 13 May 1856 died 19 October 1930 married Victoria Bingham on 14 Feb 1880. My great-great-grandmother was Elizabeth Catherine Regeon, born 19 Nov 1863 died 24 April 1932; she married Austin Hooten (born 01 Dec 1854 died 01 Mar 1935) on 20 Mar 1878. I will be delighted to share more of the Regeon information if you'd like. May I ask your relationship with Victoria Bingham?

Are you related to the McDaniel family?

Ann McDaniel
RE: McDaniel Line
Her actual name was Kizzie Dunn McDaniel. She was born 26 April 1823 in NC and married Jesse V. McDaniel in 1848. They are buried together at the Pecan Gap Cemetery. Jesse and Kizzie were my great-great grandparents. Several of the McDaniel family members lived in Ladonia, close to Pecan Gap.
