RE: THANK YOU!!
The other side of the marker says Delilah B. Cobb 1902-1982. I would assume that to be his wife although I don't really know. I added that photo to an existing memorial which has her maiden name as Bartlett.

Glad I could help!

Edward Merrill Wilson
Hello! Edward Merrill Wilson is my step-father, my Papa. Would you consider transferring the memorial to me? I would like to update it with his kids' names and his widow's name (my mom).

Thank you!!! :-)

Hi,
You had requested his stone along with whomever he shared the stone with. I got a close up of whom he shares the stone with and added that to his memorial. If you can add a memorial for Eleanor then you can move the pic or I can. I do not need credit for pics, so just let me know which you prefer. Cleaned the stone as best as possible, sorry this cemetery is not in good shape, many complaints and talk of it being handed to the county or state for years, but it remains in private hands so far. I hope it helps solve your mystery :)

Regarding the memorial for Frank at Elmwood, I'd contact the creator of that memorial, send them the memorial number of the one at Forest Hill, and suggest they remove it. It looks like they are active, so that should take care of it.

I don't have any information other than the record of his burial would be at the Miller County Library and was recorded in Georgia Gen Web records. There are so many unmarked graves in that cemetery because it is so old. Sorry.

When I took the picture her husband was not dead or did not have the death date on his stone. I now live in Middle TN and do not get back down that way.

Yes Douglas and Michael are Steven's brothers they are still living I don't know the birthdays I prefer not to post that on here since they are still living. James Leonards wife Louise is also still living. I am thinking that Betty could have been James sibling or a cousin?

I have no clue who James Lamar Cobb (1959 - 2013)* is he is not one of James Leonard's children. This gentleman is listed as a child of James and is not.

Thanks

Hi Betty,

I really don't have much to offer as I'm not familiar with the family - I was just documenting the cemetery a few years ago. I looked around a bit, and it appears that you are correct that his parents are Robert Cobb and Nannie Lanier, but I was not able to find any information on them, nor am I aware of any living direct descendents. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Best regards,

Tony

Betty, I'm not sure but, I think it was a car accident. My mother and father divorced when I was young and I don't know much about my dad's side of the family.

RE: Ruth Cobb
Hi again, just out of curiosity I searched the Cullman Funeral Home site and found this Mr. Cobb that has not been listed in Findagrave. This is all I could locate on him. It seems maybe he died without anyone to take care of a proper obituary, sad. Hope this helps.

RE: Ruth Cobb
Hi, I sure don't know. It looks like maybe he gave up his burial plot to his daughter. There is still a complete section of the cemetery I haven't photographed. If he died since 2004, (let's hope he has not) I may locate him in the last section. I hope to get it completed soon, so check back to see if I have added any more Cobbs' to the listing.

Your message:
The memorial for his father shows him as son of Ruth Wood and then his father married Lissie Carter in 1939...and had one son b.1948.... and then waited until 1966 to have another child? How can we clear this up?

The obit for Winfred Cobb did not give his wive's names. It did give the names of his children.

The obit for Robert E. Cobb gave his mother as Lissie Carter Cobb Chappell.

The obit for Mack Tyrus Cobb gave his mother as Ruth Wood Cobb Wooten.

I have changed the biography info on Winfred Cobb's memorial page to reflect the uncertainty of the children's mothers.

Thanks for bringing this problem to my attention.
-Bobbie
