RE: Peter Laufer
Excellent question. Laufer means "he who runs" in German. We donít know if it was our ancestors began to use the English version of Runner, or if it was translated/transcribed by the English due to the their inability to speak English or able to read. The name Laufer began to disappear by late 1790ís/early 1800ís. The Laufer name suffered the same fate as my last name. Which was originally Wurtz, but got translated and transcribed by the English to Virts, Verts, Werts and Wertz with the original spelling pretty much disappearing by late 1790s. By everything we can tell it pretty much looks as if their inability to read and relying on others to translate for them lead to all of these variations.

RE: Charles Runner-Calvary L.A.
Hi Kim,

You may as well try asking for Sophie's location.
Just a hunch but I'm guessing she will be in another section that has a lot of older burials on the other side of the cemetery. I hope to go over there Tuesday and continue my search for Charles.

Hi Kim

I'm working on Charles Runners grave photo.
But something doesn't seem right. Since We have his location, I need to find out who is next to him. I'm not finding a marker, but the grave he is supposed to be in has another name there. That is what I need to clarify with the office.
Also, truly suspect that his wife Sophie is in a different section

If you can call Calvary Cemetery (323)261-3106 for the grave location I will get the photo for you! Do not email because they will not reply. I would call for you but Since I am probably the only regular active volunteer there I have made many many calls to them for locations and they are very annoyed with me.

RE: Zion cemetery

I don't know what Zion cemetery you are talking about as there are 124 "Zion Cemeteries" in PA. I assume it is PA? Also did I take a photo of the cemetery or a photo of one of your relatives, If so what is name of person in Zion Cemetery you are talking about?

Hi Kim,
We respectfully request permission to use the cemetery sign photo in our online tree with credit. Marie has a cousin interred there and the photo will make a great addition.

Thanks for your consideration.

RE: Mabees
Hi, Kim,

I've transferred all of the folks with the Mabee surname that I had. Don't know about the ladies, so, if you know their married surnames, just let me know.

Thanks for wanting them!

Take care.

PS: I'm a descendant of the Bradts, and you seem to be a descendant of the Mabees- I'm glad to transfer it to you. :)

Marcus and Elizabeth Mabee
Hi, Kim,

Thank you for the edit to link Marcus and Elizabeth. If you are related to them, and/or to other Mabees for whom I have memorials, I would be happy to transfer them. I much prefer to see folks with someone who knows them.

Take care.

Hi Kim;
I think I transferred all you asked for, but if I missed someone, just let me know.

I fixed it, are you related? I knew Dyke and his wife for a long time. Would you like the memorial transferred to you.

RE: Pierre Vivier
I'm a direct descendant of Pierre Vivier married to Marguerite Roy, but their son Pierre is not in my direct line (so I would be happy to transfer him, if he is the Pierre that you're asking about).

My line goes down through their daughter Marie-Anne married to Pierre Tessier, so if you are related to Pierre and Marguerite through another child, I'd be happy to transfer that child & their family's memorials to you - just let me know... Thanks!

PS - I have a number extended family members that I've entered, that I would be happy to transfer to direct descendants, so please feel free to ask on anyone that you're interested in...

Hi Kim;
It is I who want to thank you for all you have done, and are doing. Someday I may have the pleasure of running into you in one of the cemeteries. I see your name everywhere. I do not know if you are related, but I know Tim Mabee very well. I have turned the 4 listings you requested over to your very capable hands.

No problem! Are you going to repost the photos to the right memorials? I'd happened to photograph one of them today, but it wasn't as good a one as yours.

I just sent you an email. Thanks for responding to me!

RE: Peter Brickey
Amazing! I have never heard of a reunion. How neat. Yes, Peter and Josette had a son names Jason (which I have also seen as Hyancythe Jason Vivia Brickey). This is my great grandfather. Jason married a woman named Anna Binns, and they had Alba, Clarence, Mainey, Dewey, Herbert, Gladys and Pearl (not in that order). Herbert is my mother's dad.

Nice to meet you cousin! I would appreciate any information you have to share, and I will share anything I have.

Thank you for such a quick response!

Thank you for photographing my great great grandparents resting place. I am curious as to where you obtained the information for the memorial page for Peter. Thank you again!
