Sarah and Edith Flentje
Hello, These women were each wives of my great-great uncle William Flentje. Since you created memorials for them, I assume you have some information about them. I have gone over the cemetery and have not been able to find gravemarkers for them. Do you know where or under what names they are buried? Would you be able to tell me where you got the further information about them? Thank you very much, Karl

RE: Lynn d. Rives at North Africa Cemetery
Hi Rives,
I did not go to Africa. A Frenchman who lives in Tunisia took the photos for me and emailed them to me. I process and crop them, then upload them. The Frenchman gets photo credit for each one in the caption:

I've helped him Stateside with his American WWII research (obits and finding burial locations).

Hi Ruthanne,
You are welcome for the photos. I am very familiar with the Rohna. I see the new marker for him at Alton, and his history with the Rohna. I'll try to have Lynn's page at North Africa linked to his parents--both pages should stay intact.
Many of the Missing at the North Africa memorial are from the Rohna, and many have a similar detailed bio on their page.

Sarah J Whetstone in Rives Cem.
Dear Rives,
You have posted in the Rives cemetery a Sarah J. Whetstone, and if i understand the grave is unmarked. I assume the information was taken from some type of sexton records. May I ask is there ANY other information contained in the record that might not have made it to the find a grave web site? Anything, even though it might appear trivial or insignificant? Also what part of the county is the cemetery located?

Do you have a little history of the cemetery? especially around 1882? Was it a family cemetery? If someone died in 1882, how would permission be granted for a plot?
Thank you for your assistance, Ken Whetstone

SSDI and place of death
It's been my experience that folks interpret the SSDI as listing the deceased's place of death; however, it's actually listing the place where the last benefit was sent...often completely different from place of death, sometimes not even in the same state. I find this over and over in the Ancestry hints for other people's trees, incorrectly listing POD. I usually use obituaries and death certificates as the sources for POD.

RE: Florence Borman
I am so distantly related, it's almost not there, but they are in my family tree. I have added very distant relatives to my tree because sometimes they loop around and marry someone more closely related to me, thereby creating a double relationship to me. Consequently, I'm afraid to NOT add them in case I miss a connection. This is why my tree has more than 12,000 people in it. Unmanageable, but fun nevertheless.

The Scotts are not my family. They lived next door to my gt grandfather's family and I have school pictures with the kids in them as their father was a teacher in the school. My grandparents also attended the same school.

Thank you so much for the transfers. I would be curious to see if we are related way back? I am related to all the Smith's, Bramley's, Water's, etc etc. felt like 1/2 the cemetery! My great Grandmother Verna (Bramley) Smith was the organist at the methodist church for something like 40 years in palmyra and lived basically her whole life there, i dimly recall her funeral at the church. My niece is now going to school at McKendree, about an hour away, it seems she has unintentionally returned to our roots! my mother was born in carlinville, i think because there was not a hospital in palmyra?! i hope to make it back that way, but probably not until next year as health issues will keep me close to home im thinking for the remainder of the this year.but there is plenty of graving to do around here! I am sorry about your husband, its never easy. now who's rambling? :) - Caroline

and and if you would also be willing to give me my great great grandfather, Robert Bramley #92704830.

My number is #48400782. I did make it to the Oak Hill Cemetery last spring and I hope to be able to go back next year and spend more time there and in Palmyra in general. Im not sure where you are at or if the cemetery and people mean anything to you other than just (thankfully!) memorials you have created. I appreciate all your time. -Caroline

William S. Buchanan #100897713
Thank you for posting the photo of the grave stone for William S. Buchanan. I'm wondering if you would consider granting me permission to post your photo on my Ancestry.com file. I have no interest in the photo for anything other than genealogical purposes and I place credit for the photographer in the photo description on Ancestry.

Thanks for your consideration.
