Christy
Related to Lila Henson
Kitty,
I am so grateful for the work you've done. My mother (Donna Carole Larsen-Elder) was the daughter of Lila Henson and James Larsen. She was adopted in to the Elder family in the 40's. I never met or knew any of her relatives besides her sister and 2 brothers. My mom passed last year and I just recently received her photo albums. I have been doing research trying to find my relationship with the people in these photos. I have been communicating with a woman in San Diego that knew Stuart Henson. I don't know why my mom never talked about anyone or why I didn't ask. My mom died unexpectedly and I have SO MANY regrets.
How are we related? I may find the answers as I will continue looking and reading your posts.
Thank you,
Christy

Caroline & Horace Weaver
I'm pretty sure we are related. Caroline Parsons Weaver is my 3rd great grandmother, and Edward Weaver & Martha Patsy Raymer Weaver Draper are my 4th great grandparents. My family line goes down through Edward and Martha's daughter Emma Jane Weaver Dixson, to Esie Lydia Dixson, Nixon Bybee, to my grandfather Harry F Nixon. I knew absolutely NOTHING about my grandfather or his family growing up, I only met him once and my mother barely saw him growing up. I sent you an email, hopefully we can talk!

Ann Curfew-Eagar
Edward Weaver 1799-1842
I am sorry I took so long to answer your message. I have been ill.
This is what information I have on Edward's death
"Edward contracted a bad cold. Pneumonia set in, from which he died as recorded in the Brown Bible, on 2 December 1842, leaving his wife, Martha, with seven children. Edward had declared his last will and testament on 1 December 1840, which reads in part: "First, I desire to be decently and privately buried in the church yard in district one in Township five south, sixth west, near Aury Brown without any funeral pomp and with as little expense as may be." This is probably now in what they call the Stoney Point Cemetery. No grave marker has been located for Edward. He named William Draper, Jr., "my trusty and much esteemed friend" sole executor of his estate. William Draper, Jr. carried out his wishes with the probate court in Pike County. The date and place of his death as recorded in the probate papers were also shown as 2 December 1842, at Pleasant Vale, Pike County, Illinois.
In 2008, while visiting in Nauvoo, Illinois, the following information was found: The Records and Land Office of Nauvoo reports that in 1872, Pleasant Vale name changed to New Canton, Pike, Illinois. That would account for the fact the family has not been able to locate his grave in Stoney Point Cemetery in Pleasant Vale."
I believe he is buried in New Canton, Pike, Illinois, but no headstone has survived these many years.
I appreciate you taking care of this, you are awesome! He is my direct great-great grandfather, his daughter Martha Elizabeth Weaver's daughter Lois Stoddard was my grandmother.
Sincerely, Ann Curfew Eagar

The Find A Grave Memorial #40114457 I believe is incorrect. I would like to discuss this with you. He is my 2nd great grandfather and I have information taken from his history stating he was buried at Stoney Point Cemetery, near New Canton, Illinois.
I would appreciate your information that lead you to believe he was buried in Old Nauvoo Cemetery.
Thank you so much.
