RE: Lewis & Hattie Blankenship
Hi, Skip.

Yes, thanks, a picture of the headstone itself would be nice, but don't make a special trip or anything--take your time. I'm very appreciative of what you've already done. I'm just curious as to whether their headstone will list their death dates as well. (The footstones only had their birth dates). I have Lewis' death date in my file but I only have the month for Hattie's.

Also, if you're familiar with the area, would you be able to suggest a local newspaper their obituaries might have appeared in? I'd like to see about possibly trying to order microfilm through inter-library loan to search for their obituaries. (I'm assuming the paper would be too small to have their obituaries on an online website--especially being that old).

Lewis & Hattie Blankenship
Hi, Skip.
Wow, thanks so much for the headstone photos of my great-granduncle Lewis & his wife Hattie. I've never been to the cemetery so this is a first time seeing the stones for me. And I never knew Lewis was a World War I veteran until now!
Question: Do you know if these are footstones? I saw a large stone in the background of one of the photos and was wondering if that was actually their headstone, or if it might have merely been the marker for the next graves beyond theirs.
Anyway, thanks again! I really appreciate your efforts.
