I changed the birthdate to Sep 22 but left the year 1888 because that is on her gravestone. Thoughts? Also, added month and date of death. Made a note that Walter Smith was her husband and Amanda her mother. Changed death location to Simpson Co, KY. I removed Alice as being her mother. Anything else?
Sincerely,
Faye

Don, I was never able to make a link from J.W. to any family tree. Every where I went was a dead end. Sorry to hear about Lloyd,,, he looked pretty bad the last time I saw him .... I think somewhere around 5 years ago.

I even hired a geneologist in Virginia; they never found anything either.

cheers

Don, it didn't come from me. Can you ask Lloyd if it came from him.... if so, he should know. If not, there's a lot of folks along the way that have tried to link "our" J. Wilson to other family trees that have not stood up... thanks

Aquilla Floyd
Mr. Burris:

I'm trying to ascertain if Aquilla Floyd (d: Nov 1879 Edmonson County KY)is buried with members of his family at Sand Hill. He is Enoch Floyd's
brother (b: 1790). Aquilla was a War of 1812 and Blackhawk War veteran. There is a monument at a Blackhawk War battlefield (Kellogg's Grove) in
Northern IL, and there are headstones for those killed in the area in that or other battles/skirmishes. Aquilla has one there. It should not be there. Someone erroneously ordered him the headstone to be placed at the monument in 1938. He didn't die in the war. He went back to Kentucky and died of old age. I want to get that headstone removed and hopefully placed at Sand Hill with his family since he didn't die during the Blackhawk War, and isn't buried there.

Are there any cemetery records that show him buried there? I doubt that he has a headstone, or his headstone has been lost, because the only records I can find are for headstones that can be read. I could also use help in getting the headstone moved there, and perhaps you are the person to help?

RE: Daisey Duncan
Hi Don - Thank you for the information on Daisey Scobee Duncan. I do not think we are related but there could be that possibility. Daisey is listed in the 1900 and 1910 census as black race and her parents are listed as Sherman and Beulah "Scoby" - I do not have any of those names in my genealogy program. I try to request grave markers for all Scobee names I come across in Findagrave and you wonderful volunteers have been so helpful both with photos and extra time you spend getting additional information. Just want you to know how you are appreciated and because of what you do this has become a wonderful site for researchers and preserving our history.

I would love to make the link to his parents, James Young #8978712 & Mary Louisa (Hudnall)#8978696 but I am not able to do that because it is not my memorial.
Sincerely,
Faye

RE: watt family
It's also possible that John may have brought his parents' bodies to be buried at this cemetery, especially if it isn't far away from where they lived at the time of their deaths. But it's also possible that they were buried on their property in Edmonson County that is now lost.

RE: watt family
Curious about the "original" deed that you say you have a copy of. Is it from the deed book or an actual deed that would be in the owner's hands. I am sure I have a copy of the one that was in the deed book as I had a researcher years ago in the 1980s do some digging at the courthouse for me. I was doing a lot of work on my folks, including the Watts, during that time in Kentucky. Could you let me know more about this deed? You can contact me at lemstar97@yahoo.com if you prefer.

RE: Thomas Keown
Don, thank you so much for contacting me to let me know more about the burial location of Thomas Keown. And that you are from the Flora family who owned the cemetery property. I am from Samuel Watt through his daughter Nancy Watt, wife of Isaac Flippin. John Watt who owned the property at one time and who is buried at the cemetery was the brother of my Nancy. The area used to be owned by Samuel Watt. I am so glad we had a chance to stop by and visit this lovely area. So glad it's well kept. Thank you. I am sure Samuel Watt and his wife Rachel are buried at this cemetery or at least nearby. If you need information on the Watt family, feel free to contact me. If you find more about the unidentified burial spots, I'd love to know about that, too.

Wonder why Web didn't have to die at the county farm too? He dropped out of the census (via death) but no death record found yet. Guess it would be best if we leave her with the group as you have the page built, but thank you for the offer. Jacqueline

Preserving the Past
RE: Polly Ann Hudnal Taylor
I received your message concerning the first name of Polly Taylor. My family records differ from your information. Also her headstone, reflects her name as Polly Ann ....unless you can give me some other documented proof that her name was Mary Polly Ann the memorial will remain as is.. thank you for your input though and have a great weekend.
