|Rex||Brushie Prairie Cemetery|
Hello, I believe my GGG Uncle is buried there, They lived in Spring Hill in the 1870s, His name was Lawson B. Price, His wife filed for his Confederate pension and said he died 16 Aug 1880 TX.
But did not give the County, He sold his land in Navarro in 1879,and none of them were listed on the 1880 Census, But the Brushie Prairie Methodist Church has his wife and 3 of his children listed there as members after 1884, and 3 of his children were married there in 1884, 1885,and 1886, wife and children moved to Van Zandt County in 1899. Lawson was a Sergeant in the 33rd AR. Co. F, I wanted to place a Government Confederate Marble Marker there for him but I don't know where he is buried at, do you know how to find him? and is there a way to place one out there? Do you know how many unmarked graves are there? or do you know who I can ask?
Thank you, Rex

Hi! I'd sent the message to Gail French 6/25, and I don't believe I've heard back. Message as follows:
Do you happen to know who her birth family members are?
I'd appreciate your response. I noticed that she used to be from the Corsicana area when she obtained her marriage license.

Hello Gale--Photos added. You had asked to also look for a grave of James' wife, if nearby. I did not find his wife, but did find a baby daughter. I added a memorial page for her with photos too.
I have made edit requests to the administrator of the page to add location and also his obituary.
Obit. indicates his wife as Sally. I did a little checking, and Sally appears to be Sally whitlock Crutchfield Allday Goodenough. That's a mouthful. There is a memorial page for a Sally Goodenough, #17798297. Perhaps you will know if this is the correct person. Bye for now, Peggy

Do you know if there is a headstone at this grave now. I know he qualifies for one to be provided by virtue of his service.

There is also a Mary Louise Sheffield Price Wilson (14 Apr 1947-7 Jun 1977) buried in the Oakwood Cemetery. She was Black, born in Rusk, Cherokee County, TX, and died in Denton.
So they are both buried here.

There is a Mary Lou Pauline Wilson (20 Dec 1915-16 Apr 1917) buried in the Oakwood Cemetery (aka Denton City Cemetery) in Denton Texas, according to her Death Certificate #11025. Her father was J E Wilson and her mother was Georgia Argo?, both born in Texas according to the DC. They lived at 308 Fort Worth St., Denton. She died in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas, about 60+ miles away.
There are a number of Prices buried here, but no Marys with the maiden name Price.

The Mary Wilson buried in Oakwood Cemetery is Mary Lou Pauline Wilson as you suspected. It was originally known as the Denton Cemetery.

Do you happen to have a section area and/or plot number, etc. for this request? This is a very large cemetery and they're not currently known for being overly helpful to these requests. I live close by this cemetery and would like to get the photos for you, but without the section area info, etc. there's no way I could find the plot. perhaps if you call the cemetery they will give you this info. If they do, post it on Find-A-Grave and we can go from there!

How cool that you are writing a book!! Bobby is my 4th cousin, so I am related but not closely. His maternal great-grandfather, William Troy Loftis, was my great-grandmother's first cousin. William's brother, Zenas Sanford Loftis, was a missionary to Tibet and died there. The family story is that he and my great-grandmother were in love, but their parents forbade them to marry since they were first cousins; he went to Tibet, and she married my great-grandfather, a widower with six children.

If I am figuring it correctly, his grandmother is linked as his mother, which makes his father and uncle show up as his half-siblings. His mother was still living as of Apr. 2012 (surviving daughter-in-law in obit of Johnnie R. Sauls Sr.).

You currently have Sarah's page linked to a BW Benjamin Wesley Ammons son of Garner Mack.
Garner Mack and John Dorris were siblings and only a year apart. Hmmmm wonder how much sibling rivalry went on in that family!! or hopefully a lot of love and happines.

I am going to do my best to locate and photograph the gravestone of Dorothy French. Hopefully, there is a gravestone and not unmarked. We'll keep our fingers crossed that I can locate her!
