Finding My Dead
E. Carolyn Edwards
Hello! I received your email regarding Carolyn's husband Alfred. Alfred is buried in the same cemetery but not with her; he is in the Garden of Valour, which is the section across from her. I have uploaded the picture that I took of her crypt plate to her memorial. I did not photographed any graves where Alfred is buried but I did create memorial #178063887 for him with all the information I could find real quick. Would you like Alfred and Carolyn transferred to you? I am not related to either; they were buried in the same cemetery as my sister. - Lisa

answer to your question
Is Almina Schmeckenbecher, born 1894, really the mother of Lloyd W. Schmeckenbecher, born 1891 ???

Obviously that's impossible--but just as obvious should be the fact that I didn't add the link...nevertheless, I sent an Edit for them to be removed. If they're not soon, you can follow up and send another Edit...thanks!

RE: Mrs. Suver (unk-1922)
Hi, I could not find an obit for the Suver 2-2-22. It is not on Ancestry or the FHC. I was not surprised since the child was stillborn. I often find that small children who died in the old days did not warrant obits.

RE: Mrs. Suver (unk-1922)
Hi,thanks for acknowledgement on Catherine's memorial but it is totally unnecessary. I found out something interesting today from the WA State librarian. She always does an excellent job. Take a look at 155169834. I requested a photo for Catherine's memorial. W/ three living kids, I can't imagine they wouldn't buy her a stone. I'm going to see if I can find an obit for 'Mrs' Suver. I'll let you know what I find.

RE: Mrs. Suver (unk-1922)
Good news. I found her. Per my note on the memorial, this may not be her headstone but it is her obit. I've contacted the library again to see if they can find any Suver for 1922. She was transcribed

RE: Mrs. Suver (unk-1922)
Hi, I wonder where she disappeared to in 1920. I checked the WA Death Index and she is not showing there or in OR. I contacted the WA State Library to see if she can find a date. I'll let you know what I find out. If we can get the full death date, we will know for sure it is she and I can also lookup an obit.

RE: John M. Baur (1903-1991)
This is not our memorial and we just added the picture of the grave stone. They are buried in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Shavertown and I have sent an edit to the owner of this memorial, spiritclown. According to the obit for John and Madeline's son, John W Baur, John M's middle name was Martin. Hope this helps.

I just traced my lineage to Jacob Suber (1784-1837) also! This is fascinating for me and I will be looking further. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Carolyn K. Shearer
Arey family of PA
Do you have any information on a Margaret Elwood Arey, (1847-1930 Sullivan Co, PA), who married John Philip Walters? Her death certificate lists her parents as John Arey and Ann Powell, place of birth "Tamanqua" In the 1850 census she is living with a John Arey family in Wilmot Bradford County, PA, age 3. This John Arey, age 65, and hiw wife Margaret, age 59, seem too old to be her parents. Is she a granddaughter? Who are her parents?

Glad to hear I was able to help you with my cemetery work! I had to take my name off and just put my initials, since our son has the same name and he was getting phone calls about findagrave.

RE: Millan Bulko

I've been to Edgehill about a half dozen times with Millan on my list each time and he was always elusive. I walked about a 1/4 of the cemetery and was calling it a day and just before getting in my car I glanced down and there he was.
Made my day too. Glad that I could help.

take care,

Hi Lois - the stone photo shows Howey as surname, not Harvey or Howery, so that is what I used. It is on the base of the stone and repeated four times on each person, so I am using what the family must have placed there, several times. Perhaps it was changed later, but for Finda'Grave', I use what's on the grave. Let me know if you have anything else to add. Thanks, Bill Fisher
