RE: Robert E. Silva
You're welcome! It's an honor to do!
Also, I have sent some edits (his middle name, cemetery plot#, marker inscription) to Glenda, who manages his site. I sent them some time ago and she has not yet posted them. I re-sent them today:

Middle name Elwood
Plot: Section 4; Site 1146
Marker inscription:

Sorry for the differences and errors! Will check my books and see what they say. I was working from the records taken when the cemetery was first read. Thanks for the heads up!

RE: John Morton

I also tried to locate additional information about John Morton (b. 1796, d. 1867) on the Internet and found the following.

1860 North East Ward, Lancster, Lancaster Co., PA
o John Morton, b. c1876, Ireland, Occupation: Farmer
o Jane Morton, b. c1794
o Edward Morton, b. c1833, Occupation: Carpenter
o Rachel Jackson, b. c1810 (NOTE: Rachel is buried beside William Morton.)

1850 Buffalo Township, Butler Co., PA census:
o John Morton, b. c1795, Ireland, Occupation: Farmer
o Jane Morton, b. c1792, Ireland
o Wm Morton, b. c1824, NY, Occupation: Farmer
o Edward Morton, b. c1832, NY

NOTE: You will find the gravestones for each on Find A Grave in the Lancaster Cemetery, although Jane Morton's gravestone is unreadable.

RE: John Morton

I worked on the stone and was able to get a better photo and the top part of the inscription. Both are now on John Morton's memorial. The top part of the inscription is as follows. The bottom part is very difficult to make out.

Inscription: AT REST, JOHN MORTON, Born June 13th 1796, Died March 18th 1867, aged 70 years, 9 months and 5 days.

I hope this helps.

RE: Vining, Pinney, Skeels
My Great-grandmother was from the Skeels family (daughter of Harvey W.). I think you might have most of what I have to offer. Someone once asked me if they could share with you a photo that I believe is of Emily F. Skeels from my family album. I have an old letter that mentions Mr. Wood (Emily's husband)cutting his hand. I have a couple old tin photos that are probably from the Skeels family but are not labeled. I have a few tidbits about Harvey Robert Skeels - selling shingles in Worthington, running a General Store, making Pearl Ash. I also have copies of portraits of Harvey R. and Huldah Skeels. Several photos of Harvey W. Skeel's children. A nice photo of Emily's brother William's daughter Grace. Anything sound interesting? Do you have anything related to Harvey W. Skeel's family?

RE: Elder
Success!!! I was finally able to find the right person, and he told me where John Elder's grave was located. I was able to go today, and get a picture. As you can imagine, it's not very legible. Just so glad we could finally get a photo for you on this one. I'll send info for other Elder as well.

In the Oakley Chapel Cemetery, there is one ELDER headstone. The inscription is "Father / Mother" - "James W. 1837-1887" and "Elizabeth 1843-1918". Unfortunately, I found nothing matching your Elder request.

It's not to far away. I pass it on the way to my daughters house and it is in my town. I will take care of it.

You are very welcome. I ead later that there were other family members on the reverse side. Did you want them also?

Hi! I'm sorry - didn't realize there was one on there - I'll take a drive by again, and see if I can see it. Looking at the pic, can't tell if something very worn or going into grass level - or both! Will let ya know...Kathy KP

Bessie Beane - Bainbridge Cemetery
Hello Sheridan,

We went to the cemetery today and took a photo of Bessie's marker as well as the marker of her brother, J. Bener Beane. He was only 5 months old when he died. His marker says that he was born Feb. 10, 1869 and he died July 10, 1869, and that he was the son of Geo. and America Beane. Bessie's says that she was born August 29, 1870 and died Jan. 31, 1872. She was 1 year, 5 months and 2 days old and that she was the daughter of Geo. and America Beane.

Hope this helps with your research.

I have corrected the birth year to reflect what is on the headstone that has been added to the memorial.

I have added the birth/death data you requested, plus added the parents. However! I can't change Thomas Samuel's because I didn't create his. I was surprised that I didn't do all three, but . . .

Thanks for furnishing the information!

I was just about to head there and take the photos, but since the "two week" deadline passed, the requests were deleted. Can you send me the names again, and I will get there ASAP. Thanks! Sorry for the delay.

Hello! I have claimed three of your requests. I have not had a chance to take the photos yet, but wanted you to know that I have not forgotten about them, and should have them for you by the end of the week. Do you have any special requests for them?

Thanks for the correction. Don't quite know why the date was incorrect -- perhaps we used information from the files.

At any rate, it should be right now.

I couldn't find a few of these graves. A lot of stones are missing in this cemetery, and many are worn so much as to be illegible. I did manage to find Lydia, Eliza, and George Pinney, and Eunice, Huldah, and Marcus Vining.
