I have been interested in my family history since I was a child and knew my Grandmother was a member of the DAR. She had a book on an early branch of our family that goes back to the 1600s in Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg. I have that book now as well as 3 other published genealogies on my family. I am working to identify all of my immigrant ancestors. I live in Blacksburg, VA, the home of Virginia Tech, where my husband and I met in 1970. We love it here in the mountains of VA. I love cemeteries and hoped that the home we bought in southwestern VA would have one on it so that I could care for someone's family and loved ones. There are lots of small old family cemeteries nearby and I am looking into a local cemetery documentation project. I hope to become a good contributor to this great web site!! Carol
