No relation except for being a Mobilian - if you would like custody, LMK and I'll be happy to transfer.

The source from the parent info came from Alabama, Deaths, 1908-1974. It was an electronic index put out by the Alabama department of public health.

I have found, at times, issues with the index.

First, the information all comes from the death certificate. The informant may unknowingly provide false information.

Second, the person taking the information may not have tried to hard when putting it down. For instance misspellings of names, or outright changing of names from say Henson to Hinson.

Lastly, some of them were hand written. When transcribing them into the electronic index, transcription errors may have taken place.

So, take the information from the source as what it is worth, and I hope that it is a piece that can help you put together the puzzle.

nancy crow franks
Looking for info on Crow side of family. Nancy was older sister of my great grandmother, Rosa Crow Grounds. There are several James Crow's but I do not believe I have found the right one. I have another Crow line in my family, but do not think they link together. Would appreciate any info you have on James and/or Mary.

Got your links added to the Franks that you sent. I also removed the parent links to Mettie Franks, the information was sent to me by another Find A Grave member and I am sorry for the error.

RE: Me Again--Ralph Franks
Donna, Thank you so much for the website link you shared. I called it up and spent a half day reading through it. Now I am going to go through it and write down names and dates of the older ones and see how many Find A Grave memorials I can find for them. I am a firm believer in using Find A Grave to put together family trees. The total memorials in it now is over 125 million, so with that high a number and with family linkages (parents, spouses, and children) on the memorials,a fairly good family tree can be put together. I did that with the Peter Franks (Son of Andrew) and got over 200 descendants, then forwarded it to the person in Texas that asked me for help. He will get 200+ on the branch that moved on to TX. and Dick Fox and others never adds living descendants, but I have been able to read information on the memorials and make phone calls or send emails and end up with a communication with cousins that are thrilled to get into the search for other cousins. I now have cousins that I have never and will never meet, but they are closer than cousins that live nearby. They value having a connection "back home" where their family started from. Ralph

Me Again--Ralph Franks
I have been requested to help another Franks researcher to create their family line. This time it is Isaac II, supposedly son of Isaac I, supposedly son of Joseph, who was one of the first group to come to White Co, TN. This researcher, Jerry Franks, who lives in Cape Girardeau, MO lists his ancestrial line as father, Jerry Sr, grandfather Ritter, 1-great-grandfather William Edward, 2-great grandfather William Carroll, 3-great-grandfather, Isaac (2) and he thinks there is an Isaac I before going to Joseph, then to Jacob. He lists his family migration as: from NC, to White Co, TN, to Marion Co, AL, to Itawamba Co, MS, to Chickasaw Co, MS. If you can help Me fill in any gaps in this, I would appreciate it. Ralph

I'm seeking evidence of her parents. Do any of you know who her parents were? The Franks, Gallimores and Blackwelder families are all intertwined in Cabarrus Co, NC and apparently after they came to TN. Thanks. Merry Anne Pierson

Franks family history
Donna, I am Ralph Franks from White Co., TN and am researching a group of Franks' that came from NC in the late 1700's and very early 1800's and received land grants and soon scattered further south and west. I remember some of the names: Joseph, Jesse, Peter, Jeremiah, Elijah, Henry, Lemuel, John, Jacob, James. It has always been understood that one or more of them moved to Hardin Co.,TN where most of yours appear to be centered. I am in a 1400 member tree of Jesse who was probably the son of Joseph who was the first to arrive and was White Co.'s first court justice and established and operated Franks Ferry across the Caney Fork river. If any of the above rings a bell for you or not, please send me a note on Thank You
