My Long family was in the Carroll County Georgia area most of the 1800's. Theophilus or Ollie is as far back as I can prove.

Phyllis, if I happen to cross paths with Moses Tucker on my journey I will let you know.

My husband and I walked the cemetery - and rather large it is. So many on the list just could not be located. So I called the people in charge of the cemetery and she reported Moses Tucker was not on any of the lists she has. She suggested one of the other cemeteries in the Cumby area. I know it is frustrating when you can not locate your ancestor's resting place.

This is a comment you left sometime ago. I am very interested in the information you found.
James, I received the Old Nebo Church records and stories about your family. I have a great deal on you and your son, Elder Peter Long. It's very interesting.

From the page for Henry Holt you mention - NOTE: In the 1860 census, they
had a Malinda, age 21 born in N.C.
listed? In the same census, Doswell
was also listed at the age of 21? t
I am pretty sure that this Malinda is Doswell's wife.

|Lora Hammond Weber||RE: John H. Roberts & wife, Eva Berry|
Frances Marion Roberts was the son of Alexander P. and Rosanah McCormick Roberts (my third great grandparents). I've not come across Eva Berry and John H. Roberts in my research, so I have no information to share regarding them. Good luck in your research!

The name seems familiar. unfortunately all my cemetery records were on my computer-- which crashed recently. I am not sure which cemetery she is in. All of the headstone pictures are on thumb-drives but I had not gotten around to saving the lists of names. When I get everything relisted on my new computer I will let you when I find her.

|Dos Perros||RE: WillamMaples|
Noah is not in my line so I have not done much research.
I have a Noah, born about 1846 in Tennesse, son of Absolem Maples and Sarah Maples (her maiden name per their marriage info). Absolem was a son of Josiah Maples, Jr. & Mary (last name unknown). Josiah Jr, son of Josiah Sr & Ruthea Sweeney.
I have an Edward Noah Maples, son of William Cordra Maples & Nancy Long.
Those are the only two Noah's I have in my database.
I just found a Noah Maples (born 10 May 1838 in TN; died 28 Mar 1933 in Lincoln, Stone Co, MO) son of Abner Maples and unknown mother. (DC on MO SOS website). I don't know how he would fit into my family, if he does.

|Dos Perros||RE: WillamMaples|
Hi, I have no definitive proof as to the parents of William Maples. Nor that William Maples was the father of Josiah Maples. I do not believe that the Maples/Mahpoles of Connecticut are of this line since they were born and died in Connecticut and seemed to have not moved from there; if that is true, how could the children have been born in Virginia?

I saw that you left a note for my online friend Alice Martin LaRue. I just wanted to let you know that she has not been online for almost two years. I have been unable to reach her either through Find-A-Grave or personal e-mails. Sadly, I'm thinking that she must have passed away. I didn't want you to think that she was ignoring you.
Wishing you much luck in your searches...

This is the part I was referring to the dates don't add up it is referring to the GGFather he would have been 97 yrs old in 1682 if the marriage date is 1682. I copied it here so you can see where I'm confused. I have nothing to add I'm trying to fill in the blanks of my P. Grandmothers line and she goes back to this line of John Combs. Thank you for all your hard work I know how hard it is and I've been trying to do it as well..and I'm just groping in the dark most of the time.
"John Combs was the son of
Archdale Combs and Elizabeth Butler.
It is believed that John's grandfather,
John Combs, was the immigrant to the new
country. John Combs was born in 1589, in
Yorkshire,England U.K. and he came to the
America's on May 20, 1619 at the age of 30.
He traveled on the ship, "Marigold"
and sailed from England to Jamestown,
He married Hannah Ann 'Mason'
in 1682 in Virginia and they
were the parents of
two known children:
Mason (Sr.) "
