David Hawver 121209529 Hillside Cemetery
Hello Janice, You took the photo of his headstone, and photos of two other Hawver's on the same stone. Do you know if any other Hawver's were inscribed on the stone? I've been trying to locate the David Hawver, a Civil War Veteran, who died in 1915. Complicating the search is the fact that at least three generations in a row were named David Hawver. I noticed in the photo a GAR marker with an American flag. The David inscribed on the stone is to old to have served having been born in 1798 (he is the father of the David I'm looking for) and the other name, Arthur, I can find no record of service for. The son of the guy I'm looking for, named David of course, died in 1942, his wife in 1938. Obits show them being buried in Hillside Cemetery too "in the family plot", but they apparently have no headstones. It may be that my David does not either. Thanks for any light you can shed on this mystery. Paul Turner

You've done a great job including photos and information of people I've known but whose graves I haven't been able to visit because I now live far away.

Charles and Frances Czech
Janice, I am researching my wife's Wrzochalski family. I have submitted some edits for Frances Wrzochalski Czech (#157002721) and Charles Czech (#157002720), who were my wife's Aunt and Uncle. I have submitted updates to the birth and death dates and places. I have located Frances Wrzochalski Czech's parents gravesite and will be create a page for them, soon. I could maintain Frances and Charles' memorial pages, if you would want to transfer them to me.

RE: Spiegletown Cemetery
No, I don't think I was systematic about it. There's definitely some fallen or buried stones too. The stones, aside from tipping and being dirty, are generally in pretty good shape.

It's overgrown, but not too hard to get around it, and it's fairly small. A neighbor of it told me some scouts had cleared it a number of years ago but that it immediately became overgrown again. I'd like to go there with a saw and lopping shears sometime, and also maybe plant some periwinkle. I have some relatives there, though no direct ancestors of which I'm aware.

John S White
Hi Janice,

I found your bio on John S. White Find A Grave memorial #69975007, in which you state his birth 1744, and died 21 Oct 1804, Aged 60 years. How sure are you of these dates?? Did you obtain this information off the headstone??

The reason I ask is that my 5th Great Uncle was John S. White, and his wife Susannah White is buried in Easton Rural Cemetery, Find A Grave #83006278, however, I can not find John S. White's name listed in that cemetery. I know he died in Easton, I have found his last will which was dated 3 Oct 1846, and recorded on 14 Nov 1846, and states he is of the town of Easton, and which would place his death between 3 Oct 1846 and 14 Nov 1846.

I was wondering if the date of death for John S. White (Find A Grave #69975007), could really be 21 Oct 1846 instead of 21 Oct 1804, which would place his birth (60 years) about 1786, then this burial could be my 5th great uncle.

Let me know what you think

His grave was listed as unknown in the Global Find A Grave. This is the first time I have encountered an "unknown" so I'm not sure how to handle this. I notified the contributor of that memorial and thought I should also let you know.

PS. Thanks for the quick correction on Benamati!

Joan Parslow
Eagan family in Calvary Cemetery
Hi Janice,
The newspaper article I attached to Capt John Eagan's memorial #118263527 mentioned a son who drowned in 1902. Capt Eagan bought a plot in Calvary Cemeteryto bury him. In June 1905 the family of Capt Eagan was stricken with scarlet fever and quarantined on their canal boat at Cohoes. Three children died there, a 13 yr old child, a 15 yr old son, and a 9 yr old daughter.
Which child do you think was not buried in Calvary Cemetery?

Head Stone
Hi Janice Tefft,
In my search of family members I see that you have added a lot of pictures and information to this web site. Thank you for all the work. I have found other pictures and information that I would like to use in my family tree. Jonathan & Charlotte Carpenter Norton, Joseph Sherman, Ruth Sisson and Sara Cash. My mother is Sherman/Ross so you can see where all the others fit in.
Thank you again,
CRC Cathy

RE: Michael and Marie Sullivan
Hi Janice

Thanks a lot. There is one more I found in St. Genevieve Cemetery. Emery Wisell 37838959 you have listed there but is actually buried in Middlebury 46062983.

Michael and Marie Sullivan
Hi Janice,

The memorials you created Michael Sullivan #37496892 and Marie Sullivan #37496916 in the St. Genevieve Cemetery in Shoreham are incorrect.

They are buried at the St. Pauls Cemetery in Orwell and here are the memorials listed there with pictures Michael #85089360 and Marie #85089361.

Could you please remove your 2 Sullivan memorials from the St. Genevieve Cemetery.
