The photograph was taken by Kathi Flyte. You should contact her to verifiy where she took kthe photo. I live in California so I don't have local contacts in Illinois.
You could also verify with the funeral home and see if the obit they posted is correct for burial location.
Hope this helps.

I see two at Greenwood but, middle initial does not match. One in Graceland cemetery in Lawrence County. Let me know what you discover. Other Wm.s Luttons buried around the county.

Wm. Letten/Lutter
I have not found his photo. Standing here thinking, he may be a Lutton. Lutton is a local name I recognize and there are a few Williams in the area. I did find a few by search but forgot to look if he was at Greenwood. Doh, brb.

RE: William H. Lutten / Lutter
I was there today and took many photos. I cannot recall, now that I edited, in Lutten or Lutter was in the set today. I will keep my etes peeled for him. Many graves are impossible to read. I do not know the sections but if i find him, I am sure I could manage. Ty.

Edward Rott, my great uncle
Thank you for your work in Find A Grave; it is so appreciated!
Edward Rott is my great uncle; he is the brother of my maternal grandfather, Arthur John Paul Rott.
My mother was Eleanor Ruth Rott Colbert.
I was wondering if you would consider transferring Edward Rott (167946286) to me?
Thank you in advance for your consideration!

It is likely that this is the same person. The Ca;if. Death Record shows he ar McDowell, and the dates are the same.

RE: Sarah Gates
Hi! You are most welcome for the gravestone photos and glad to do this kind of work. I'm almost done going through the Clarence Cemetery. I know some people will put colored power on those gravestones to bring out the letters and numbers. As you can see, I posted two photos of Sarah Gates because her side was facing north, and the light just wasn't the best. Also, while doing the Downey Cemetery, the Iowa City Press-Citizen did a story on the Downey Church, which celebrated it's 150th year. They had pictures of the church and two pictures taken inside the church. The write-up noted two women who wrote a song for the church's 75th anniversary in 1940. They are also buried in Downey. I was going to send a note to the person who holds these two women's memorials, to have a note posted that these women wrote this song. I haven't done that yet, but thought this was an interesting bit of history. And another item to add, if it is of interest to you, I have a cousin, who married Gale Gates, but they didn't stay married very long. His parents, brother, are buried in Downey. You know him or related to him?

Today I will post a photo for Charles McKenna. There are two addition veterans stones at the site. Mary C. McKenna d.1985 and William d.1984. If you create the memorials, I will post the photos.

I posted a photo for Honora McKenna but realized it is for the wrong person, so I deleted it. You will have to request it again. I did find Honora McKenna buried at Cavalry 17 Jul 1895 at 46 years in Section Block 6 Lot 26.

Hi Caron: Thankyou very much for posting the photos and text to his memorial. It makes for a wonderful tribute to the only Will Co., IL soldier to have died in combat during the First World War! Bruce Myers #47425897.

O'Harra followup
Hi again Caron: I went back to my hard copy records of my aunt and indeed she did record Lt. O'Harra's date of death as "1 Nov 1943." After seeing his California Death record, I now have two sources in agreement with a 1943 death. I cannot explain the gravestone inscription...perhaps it was indeed an error. As a result, I have changed his findagrave information to reflect an 1943 death. Thank you, Caron, for bringing this to my attention. Bruce.

Lt. Lee Earl O'Harra
Hi Caron: I did see the California Death Index DOD for his 1943 death. There is an actual photo of his gravestone in "Mount View" Cemetery at which shows a "1948" death date. So there must be conflicting information. Records compiled by my great aunt also indicated a 1948 death due to a mid-air accident while on mock combat manuevers over the Mojave Desert in California. I have not seen any official military documents to confirm that however. Thanks for pointing out the California Death record, for I had not seen that bit of info. We may have to investigate further. Hi Caron: I visited your website and found out you had the information there all along. Thanks for researching him and also for your Plainfield Soldiers memorial page and book. Would it be permissible for you to post a photo of him at his findagrave memorial? Thanks so much! Bruce.
