Bailey/ Forest Park Houston.
Cemetery covers several hundred acres. Is necessary to have section and lot number. Cemetery will provide info to FAMILT/friends. Phone is 713-928-5141.

Dries/ Woodlawn, only about 150 acres, but still need location to start a search. Cemetery will help. phone 713-682-3663 or may request by email:
Lots are not well marked. Helpful to know if any marker. and perhaps a nearby monument name.

Re: Richard "Sonny" L'Herrison request, Greenoaks, Baton Rouge, LA
In the immediate area near Richard Sonny L'Herisson is Roy E, Ol Inabnett L'Herisson, and Roy Jewell L'Herisson. Those are added. Notice the spelling difference.

I sent her an edit also for the location. I agree...always least in my eyes, when one does not have a marker.

Sorry, but the graves of both Elizabeth and her husband have no markers. They are buried in Section 10 Lot 133 Sp. 1 & 2. Their graves are just to the right of the Savage stone in the pic I posted.

RE: Thank you
The grave site for Harley only contains him. At Houston National, they bury spouses on top of each other, so his wife is not located there.

RE: Thank you!
You're quite welcome ... glad that the info helped!
You can find very interesting stories concerning those mass reburials from S.F. to Holy Cross via Google. People sometimes think that the deceased were ... well, dumped, into a mass pit. The process was undertaken with respect & dignity according to the stories I've read.

I also think obits add so much to a memorial. So glad that you were happy to add it. Thanks

Thank you for the addition. The more I research the more I find what a small world it really is and that the old families of this country, with the huge families from the past are just about ALL related! I'm in Central Texas with another branch of the Burts with whom I grew up in a small community. Working on genealogy opens our eyes to so many things. Best to You, Nancy

RE: Thank you! (Ada Sturdivant)
Heyyyyyyyyy, guess what? Sooooo, I see that she is Ada Ledden Sturdivant, born June 7, 1869 in California, died October 1, 1951 in Marin County, California. Her father's last name was LEDDEN, her mother's last name is MATTINGLY!!!!!!!!! HA! Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! So then you can go backwards. I will go send a correction to A. Firefly for that memorial for ya.

Also, by the way, if you look on my comments on MY profile, you will see a guy named William Mattingly. Contact him - y'all are related somehow. He's related for sure to the Richard and Sara Mattingly, maybe you guys can put the pieces together?

Oh, I also see Ada Sturdivant, married to Joseph Sturidvant, 1930 census, with two kids - Charles T Ledden and Marion J Ledden, living in Fremont, California - those kids are listed as stepson and stepdaughter for whatever reason. It says Ada's father's birthplace (ahem, maybe, as census are sometimes wrong) is New Brunswick, Canada and mom born in Mississippi.

1940 census says Marianne Leddin (ugh on the spelling!) is still living with them.

And apparently in 1929, she took a boat to and from Hawaii, so it listed as immigration. First time I've seen that one before.

Ohhhhh and by the way, while looking up random info for a completely different person in Holy Cross a week or so ago, I saved a link for you because I thought it might be some relatives somehow to all your Sturdivants - BUT the name was spelled Sturtevant, but they were in San Francisco, so I'm going to guess they're related. It's not much, but here it is:

Oh hey, wait a minute, now here's also a link for the STURDIVANT spelling:

Very interesting! You know if I see anything else, I'll save it and give you a holler. =)

RE: Thank you!!!!!!!!
I just uploaded all the photos for the O'Neile memorials for you. O'Neile is the correct spelling - the cemetery entered some of them wrong. I sent edits to all the memorials to add the correct spelling and dates and whatnot.

Bridget O'Neile (mem# 105153354)
Charles O'Neile (mem# 105155012)
Jennie O'Neile (mem# 105121118)
John O'Neile (mem# 105155012)
Joseph O'Neile (mem# 105153469)

I wondered if Mary Sturdivant was an O'Neile??? I am really glad to help your family, I know how it is!!!

RE: Thank you!!!!
I am good! Ha. I'm in the process of photographing all grave markers in Memorial. Once in a while I get lucky and have a photo that someone requested. Does not happen very often. I do have a photo of Ella Grace O'Brien, burial in Section 23, Lot 226 - same as Karl Philip - markers are of same design. Added a photo to her memorial.
