RE: Ellen M H Lewis in Oak Hill
I am not certain, and not related. I copy out information published by the Rock Co. Genealogy Society, based on cemetery records. You can call the cemetery office M-Fri, 10 am until 2 pm, 608-754-4030.

Good luck,

Sherry

RE: Chilson thank you
James is the only Chilson interred in either Lot 6850 or Lot 6851. The stone behind the bush is on Lot 6850 and has 5 names on it. Daniel Fish,
Phoebe Fish, Cantwell Cannon, Catherine Cannon and Pheobe Amelia Keating. No one with the Horton surname is interred in either lot.

The stone on the hillside is for Jason Horton Tuttle; there are images of the stone and the central monument on his page.

RE: Obed Foss, Dexter, ME
Hello Jean, No, I have no relationship to the Foss family and do not know Mary. The history came from the Dexter Library web site, Click here! http://www.abbott-library.com/readobit.php?obitid=6693

Glad you found it helpful. Ray

pettit lineage
I foudn out that the Pettit referred to by Dyan is not the correct one either. My great uncle once told me and my Mom that originally one of the relatives came over here from France via England because of the French Revolution and at that time his last name had one t-Petit he said this was 1809 but I have no proof so far. Do you live in Brooklyn by any chance? and no, I do not have any relatives by that name.

RE: Frederick Underhill
Hi, no relationship to Frederick Underhill. However, I did observe in federal census enumerations that it looks like he was native to White Plains, NY. He is the son of Morgan and Eliza Underhill.

RE: Daniel W Horton
Please click on the photo to enlarge it and reveal a caption. The only other surname on the lot is WRIGHT. There are no other Horton burials in this lot, according to the cemetery's burial database (available online at www.green-wood.com by clicking on the Historic Green-Wood tab).

Hi Jean,

I was glad to be able to help. Had some trouble getting a decent picture your Aunt's stone. That side of the granite must be taking a lot of weather as it is very worn so I hope you can read it.

Best,
Lou
