George Speegle
Hi Kim,

Valhalla Cemetery wouldn't give me plot location info for George in order to photograph his headstone because I am not a relative. If you are a relative, you can call them and they'll give it to you. Once you have it, if you'll add it to George's memorial page, it will be much easier for me or another contributor to take the photo.

Harris Pender Renfrow
Just now saw your post about Godwin surname. "Wondering How and What Godwin we relate to....I know we are cousins of some kind as DNA Testing has matched him to both my Uncle Ransome Godwins lines and her brother My Grandmother Oliffs Godwin Craigs lines
- Kim Jones"
Do you have any info that might tell how we connect? I just recently found that my great grandfather, Harris Renfrow, carried the Y DNA for NC Godwins. Email me at

RE: Frances luella
Okay, so let me make sure I understand you... Frances Luella has the same mother (Godwin)but your great grandfather has a different father than Frances? I am personally not finding a thing, but my step father is pretty sure there is Native American in his family. Might even be on his mother's side. I saw a Luella Frances Henderson on a Native American census, but that was her maiden name and she was still a child living with her family. Thanks!

Kim Sorry I do think I'm related to the link or Cauley. But I'm working 9 family trees and they are growing daily.

Frances Luella Henderson
My half sister is so certain she has native american blood in her from her Henderson lines, but I am not finding it. The closest I got was a Chickasaw census, a Luella Henderson, age 11, 3/8 Native American, but she appears with other Hendersons that could be her father, Grandmother and siblings. I see nothing anywhere saying Frances Luella was ever called Luella, and her name would have been Luella Craig, if it was her.So far nothing to provide for her on this side of her family. On our mother's side, I could say yes. A bloodtest would verify this as well. My half sister's grandfather was Lester Cleo Henderson.

RE: Godwin
No, have not seen newer test. Took a DNA several years ago and had no luck what-so-ever with results. Of reported matches, most did not reply to my inquiries and others knew of no Godwin relations. Thanks for the information, however.

Thanks For Your Hard Work
I truly understand that you do not won't to transfer. That's fine. His memorial looks great. I will send you a link so you can link him with his father.
Thanks for all you have done. Keep up the good work.

RE: Godwin
I took the DNA test sometime ago, however found it did me no good. Of replies I received from several matches (most never replied at all) respondents knew nothing of a Godwin connection. I gave up looking at the program.

I might have found something. It has her listed as Luella Henderson though I believe. Says she was 3/8 Chippewa. Do a search on Ancestry and see if you can find it. I had to search for it.

Was Luella Craig at all Native American? Trying to find my sister's "roots".

Added by Helgerquest on Dec 30, 2014 7:48 PM

I am communicating with a Jones on Ancestry. Didn't know if this was you or someone else. I am looking for a photo of Frances Luella Craig Henderson. She is my sister's great grandmother.

I believe we met on regarding Lester Cleo Henderson's family. Just wanted to let you know that I am also here if you want to add me to your friends.

RE: your Dad's Memorial
Yes but some frown at this! There is a Find A Grave clause that states only pictures - one could argue that there is a picture involved most of the time - however, if you have an obit to submit, I'd advise you to do it

sincerely, Virginia

your Dad's Memorial
I left the picture of the obit ( I apologize for not having transferred to a proper obit)

I'm sure you have access to his obit - however, I left this for your use if you need it - I want to delete it because it is not proper -

God bless!

I did not forget you. I am not finding any thing in Sebastian or Crawford County on either one of them. I did not relize that the death cert. will not open up on this site. I will rescan it and post it agian. Do you have an address for either person in Sebastian or Crawford County? Maybe if I pull the deed sometimes it will have more information filed around it. The computers only goes back to the 80's. That is why I need their address to get the land description to find the deed.

RE: Thurl Ward
Yes I will be more than happy to send you a copy of the death cert. Not everybodys death cert. is recorded at the courthouse's. I am an abstractor and the one's that I find are recorded because that person own land and had died. It had to be file with that propery. Somethime there will also be an probate but not always. What are the names that you want searched and I will see what I can find on them. How do you want me to send the death cert. to you.
