|Janet McMaster||Re: Frank W. Jones b. 1/8/1941|
Thanks for sharing. I am related to Franks Aunt Kathryn (Kitty) (Jones) McMeins. I wanted to ask if you or anyone you know had pictures of Albert And Bertha, their children and grandchildren they could scan and send to me. I would like to add them to my genealogy. Thanks much for your time.

Hi. Concerning the age of Lavina A Aber:
There are a few factors with which I came to the date of her birth as opposed to what you have notated on her memorial.
1. In the notation, you mention that she was the daughter of Charles and Nancy Aber. If the age you mention is correct, then she would have been born around the year 1836. Her parents, both buried in the same cemetery, were born in the years 1829 (Charles) and 1840 (Nancy), thereby making them to young to be her parents.
2. If you go my the abbreviated age that I used, subtracting her death date by 4 years 14 days (as opposed to the 27 years 4 mos 14 days), you would come up with the proposed birthdate, proving the possibility of her parents indeed, being Nancy and Charles. While this may be an educated guess at best, and flawed presumption at the least, without a photo of the headstone, it is difficult to either prove pr disprove. Another problem I have incurred is in finding Lavina in the census, in this area, again making it difficult to prove or disprove.
If your date/age are correct, then her parents cannot be Charles and Nancy.
If mine are correct, then she may be, in fact, their daughter.
Is there any possiblity of getting a photo of her headstone?
In any case, thanks for your time and effort.

|Peggy Vining||RE: kock|
John Koch has a brother who served in the civil war for OH, who came to Brown County after the war. His name is James Koch with wife Phoebe. they are buried in Mount Zion Cemetery in Versailles TWP. John's wife was not an Ingram as it says in some sources. I think that came from the fact they had Ingram neighbors in Elkhorn TWP with a daughter named Nancy. He was already married and had two children when they came to Brown County (between 1853 & 1856). Two of their children died very young in 1865, buried in Zion Lutheran, and were named for his brother and wife. All Koch's buried in Zion Lutheran Cemetery are directly related to him except Ferdinand and Caroline.

Correct. Different family. Koch was a pretty common name in Germany and there are others in Brown county that are not related, too.
