Just a thought but have you considered Patsey Follis? You would have to check it out but she was born about the right time and the name of her husband was John Porcher.

Lots of names got changed over the years. Just a suggestion but nothing for sure.

Elise (moms) info
I have put in an edit to link dad's info to hers (Douglas P Jones). I'm just now finding this site and it's wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work.

The stone is not where is it is supposed to be, but I don't know shere it needs to be. I found it about 20 feet away from the cemetery next to a tree. That is what a cowdozer will do for you

Christian & Christina Straley
You have on your memorial #'s 55878740 & 55878777 they are buried in Old Harmony Cemetery in Jane Lew, WVA. They were actually buried on their property in Hacker's Creek, WVA. Their property is now a Tube making plant. Their grave sites and markers are still there and you can still visit. I just want to make sure everyone has the right information when they try to visit the graves.

There is another listing for both of Christian and Christina with pictures of their grave stones

RE: Wiley Tison
You have been great to work with on this project. I appreciate all your help. We have made the GA memorial a cross-reference to your memorial rather than deleting as a dup. Huxford's works as common reference for many people, and I thought someone might create the another incorrect memorial without the cross-reference. I know this is not a practice by Find A Grave, but I find it useful in cases such as this. As you probably know, some people just post rather than searching for an existing memorial or verifying the info they have. I call these people "name collectors" and not genealogist. A beginner genealogist looks for documentation.

I will remove my flower notes with the exception of the cross-reference stone.

You might add the info to Wiley's bio: Served as Justice of Peace, 518th dist, Irwin, 1839-1842, 1843-1845, and 1855-57. This is from Huxford vol 4 p 310. Huxford was a Judge and his history has proven valid in the past. The greatest errors in his works are family links which resulted in DAR no longer his works as proof for membership.

It has been a pleasure and thanks again,

Wiley Tison error
I made a mistake in an earlier message. I stated Wiley was living in Alapaha, Berrien in 1910...I jumped tracks on recall as that is not correct. Wiley died in 1883 according to the info I have from Huxford vol 4 p 310. Sorry for the confusion.

RE: Wiley Tison
Good. The only source I have as proof his burial at what was McMillan Cem Alapaha, Berrien Co GA now Fletcher Cem is Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass as I think I have mentioned. If Wiley is bur in this Berrien Co cem, his site is unmarked. I do know that Wiley's son William Andrew Tison moved to FL and is bur in FL...but not your cem. Wiley had a son Wiley William Tison b 25 Jan 1852 and Huxford states he died young [no date]...which might be an error as he might have moved rather than memorial for this Wiley is posted on Find A Grave. This William Wiley was abt 12 yr younger than The William Andrew mentioned above, and he might have moved to FL along with his brother.

I hope that your mention of checking the dates indicates there is a headstone. If Wiley 13 Feb 1812 does have a headstone in your cem, it would be great if you could post a photo. I have encounter memorials before which have a headstone, but photo was posted.

The Tison name as found in the GA area is now found primarily as Tyson. I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter. I think we all wish to get it right. We know that your memorial is the earlier and the others would need deleting, but we do not wish to delete until this matter is resolved.

I do know that Wiley 1812 was livig in Alapaha, Berrien Co, GA according to the 1910 Berrien Co, GA census, but that is the last record I have found for him. GA birth and death certificates did not begin until 1918-9 which will not help with our problem.

I will continue my research to locate Willie William 1852, and I will share any info with you. I am not directly related to Wiley Tison the Tison/Tyson family, but he is connected to some of families bur in Cook Co, GA and cem which I am working with. If you read my profile on Find A Grave you could better understand my interest.

Thanks for all your time and effort,

Sorry I am so late in answering your message. There are two cemeteries. I am still confused myself so I haven't tried to correct this. When I can get my head wrapped around it in a very quiet time I will try to research and correct. Have you been to the cemetery? I answered your email.

Thanks for your inquiry and will be glad to help in any way I can.

Do you have any history of Honeycomb? A church? Or names of people who might know who are buried at some of the field stone graves?

RE: Rezina Poarch Sanders
This is how to do it.
go to the duplicate
drag and drop the heart at the top of the page to an e-m-mail
copy and paste the part of the memorial that says created by including the date they created it.

skip a few lines and go to your memorial post.
drag and drop the heart on the e-mail.
copy and paste the part of the memorial that says created by you including the date you created it.

send it the e-mail to:

Only one memorail to an e-mail.
It will take them about 5 days to merge the memorials and they will give the memorial to the oldest created memorial.

If you need help let me know.
Mary Bob
