|Linda J. Morris||Edwin Nichols|
Hello, I found this memorial but I have a question. How could he drown at Ft. Riley, a Army fort pre the Civil War and yet it states that he died at Muskogee, Oklahoma. And I know he was buried in Gila, Illinois. Is this your family? It is mine but I am far from him but I do have the history back 10 generations and several REV WAR vetrans including one who died during that war and buried at West Point Military Acadamy. I really would like to ask you for his memorial so I could put all this on it. If he is your family, and my cousin, don't want to give him up, I will fill it all out and send it back. On my honor. He would hae been my third cousin.

I believe you have an error on the findagrave page for the number above. Susan C Carter is the wife of John Linzie Devall and not his sibling. Multiple factors prove this. The headstone shows WIFE with exact dates. Each of the kids have parents names listed on their respective pages indicating that Susan Carter was the mother.

Yes, your information regarding his parents is very likely. Now we just need to confirm with some DNA evidence or something conclusive. I have my direct paternal DNA results, and I have about 6 or 7 identical matches for 12 markers. So, lets see what we can find out. I will send you what I think I know. Thanks. My contact is: Robert_G_Wilson@yahoo.com

I noticed you created a memorial in 2009 for my 2nd great grandmother, Deborah. Are you related to her? She was first married to James Lake, after he passed away she married Jackson Trexler. My line runs from Trexler. I wanted to let you know there was already a memorial created for her #20853317. It's under Trexler. I did notice you had her maiden name, Baunce, spelled correctly. So many put Bounce. Are you related through that line? I can't get past her parents on my research. I'd be very interested in any information you might have on her.

I have searched the records for Bethel Cemetery and there are no Mendenhalls buried there. The man in charge of the cemeteries in Bethel Twp, Miami County Ohio has no record of any Mendenhalls in Bethel Cemetery.

Just to let you know - I think you may have accidentally put a wrong picture on this grave. Would you check to see if you have a headstone picture for George?
Thanks, Amy Anderson

This is not my line, but I read your page... and found it so very interesting! How cool... and for young and old alike... curious!
May I ask how (short version) the Mendenhalls ended up in Africa and near the Taj Mahal?
Were they missionaries, ambassadors, or plain ol' but exciting and wonderful explorers/businessmen of their day?
No hurry, but I do look forward to hearing your reply.
Meanwhile, may the Lord bless you and yours.

born 8-4-1823, died 8-25-1862, married 8-22-1843, is believed to be in this cemetery. Do you live near Songer?? I have a grandson looking for Martha, sure she is there. I have been there a couple of times but know I can't find it without my mom and my Aunt Avanelle. Kay
