RE: McCreedy
I love that story about your moms headstone. My parents both recently passed and my siblings and I struggled to think of what they would want. After the headstone was in place, I had all kind of ideas. Guess I don't work well under pressure.

Im related to the McCreedys from my paternal side. My great grandmothers maiden name was Ellen McCreedy. I know very little besides her family was originally from New York but settled in Wisconsin. Somehow she ended up in Michigan. I will have to try to research a little more. No I am not related to the person you made mention to....Dick Rappely.

Maybe we are related somehow.

RE: Edlough Belle Messer
I live in Bay County and was just visiting a couple cemeteries in Tuscola County when I came across your mothers headstone. It's quite unique. I liked it. It got my attention seeing the name McCreedy. My great grandmother was Ellen McCreedy 1875-1932. She married Delbert Whitney. I do not know much about my McCreedy heritage. I know she had a brother named Archie. Sorry to about your accident. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I was in Wisner Cemetery today in Tuscola County. I randomly photographed some headstones. One was Edlough Messer. I see you have posted the front of the stone. I found the back of the stone interesting so will add it. It's a pedigree. Wasn't sure if it was an over site or omitted because it has several names on it. Let me know if you would like me to remove photo. I have never seen a stone like it. I see her maiden name was was my great grandmothers.

RE: Elwin Madden
Hello Michael,

Sorry for the very late reply on your request. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis. Also I have been off line for a very long time due to personal reasons.

You asked me to post the grave marker photo for Elwin Madden. You were thinking this could possibly be a cousin of yours. I have posted the photo. It is you cousin let me know and I will transfer the memorial to you.

Grave for Celesta Meriah Snover
You took a picture of the gravestone for my husband"s Great Grandmother Celesta Meriah Snover in the West Burlington Cemetery by
Clifford, Mi. I was wondering if you know the actual location in the cemetery where the grave is located. I went there one time but due to the time of evening I was unable to find the grave before it was dark. I am unsure where I can get a listing for the actual grave locations in the cemetery. If you happen to know this information I would appreciate you passing it along. Thank you for any help you can give.

Mike - I look forward to getting what you have on Elizabeth. You didn't say, are you a descendant of Chalmers Briggs? If not, what is your connection to Benjamin Briggs? -- Rich

RE: Related?
I'm not sure if we are related. Benjamin Briggs' mother, Elizabeth Mellor, was the sister of my Gr Grandmother, Harriet Mellor Hardesty. Benjamin is my 1st cousin 2 times removed. Are you a descendant of Benjamin's son, Chalmers B. Briggs? If you are, then we are related. I would love to share information with you if we are related and it can help both our trees. Do you have any information about Benjamin's daughter Elizabeth? I can't find a marriage record and the only reference I have is in Benjamin's Civil War pension record that indicates in an 1899 questionnaire she was dead.

Do you also want control of Chalmers, James and Walter? They are all in the same cemetery plot with Benjamin and Melissa. -- Rich
