Mom has this one listed as Elizabeth "Lizzie " May
wife of Perry Franklin Reams

There child Mary Catherine Reams July 17 1876 - June 7 1958 has mother listed as Elizabeth May. When you find this birth this one document has several of our people on it. I saved document to my computer so I can check it.

Also this line in moms tree tie back to Lem Reams

I think Mom might have her wrong or she was a Reams that married May.

RE: Virginia Berneeker Reynolds
Hello.

Do you know if anyone might recognize people in old photos? I opened a box of pictures this weekend, and I had made notes back when my Mother was alive, some of the pictures either she didn't know herself but made an educated guess, based upon time periods and people she thought she might recall.

Some where of the Reynolds family she suspected. I can send you an email with some scanned pictures if you think you can ID them?? Or know someone who might ID them?

RE: Virginia Berneeker Reynolds
I know only Reynolds information that is availble on Ancestry.com & Familysearch. I would be happy to get you copies if you do not have access to these sites.

On the Bernecker line, I have a little more, mainly because I actually met several of them when I was younger. (Cliff jr & Virginia).

My mother Shirley A. Grabel, (Virginia & Cliff Bernecker's niece) passed away 6 years ago, and my father, Howard W. Tranor passed away January of this year. I have boxes & boxes of old family pictures, letters, cards, etc. All of these heirlooms moved from storage into my garage after dad died, so I am working as fast as I can to look through them but my wife wants me to look faster :)

I am still looking thru many of them, but if I find any Reynolds Pictures at all will be happy to get you a copy.

Let me know if you need information from Ancestry or Family search.

Thanks,

Howard M. Tranor III aka "Mick"

RE: Sarah Emaline Hill Carmichael
Hello Again!
I just wanted to let you know that we dropped off a green folder full of Carmichael, Hill, and some Fleetwood info at the Jackson Co. Library in Seymour this afternoon. They said they would put it all in a 3 ring binder, and eventually would also digitize it and put it online. No timeline on all this, I'm sure, although I'm guessing you could ask to see it before this is done. There are many things included that I've gleaned in my own research, however, the gold in this info has to be the pages from two old Bibles. I am not personally a Carmichael, Hill or Fleetwood. My maiden name is Denney, however, Dolph (Aronal Randolph) Carmichael, the youngest child of John Wm Carmichael & Amanda Ann "Kate" Fleetwood, was my father's step-father. When I found this info when we had to sell our parent's home, I knew I couldn't keep it to myself. Dolph was just a name to me growing up. It has been interesting putting his family together and seeing a bigger picture. I hope this is helpful to you and others searching for info on these families.

RE: Sarah Emaline
Hello Gaye!
Thanks for getting back with me! I assume by your last name you are descended/related to the Hill family? I do have quite a bit of info on the Carmichael/Hill families, which includes Sarah’s obituary, and I also have Bible records for the Carmichael and Hill families. According to Sarah’s obit, John Hill and Elender J. Prather were her parents, and it also says that she is buried in the Houston Cemetery. I did locate her death certificate and you are correct that it gives a different name for her father and for her burial location (interestingly, John had a brother named Thomas). The birth and death dates are the same so I’m sure it is the same Sarah. One thing I’ve learned regarding death certificates (since Ancestry made them available a few months ago, I’ve been downloading them like crazy as I search for ancestors) is that, more often than we might think, the information is inaccurate regarding the cemetery and even the parent’s names, spellings of names, etc., I’m sure for a host of reasons. With a Dr. or coroner filling out the certificate, obtaining info from distraught family members, or younger ones who are unsure, mistakes can be made. Since the info includes no name for the mother, they were likely confused about the father's name. It is frustrating for us genealogy enthusiasts!
I am currently working to copy and organize everything I have and am planning to take it to the Seymour library for their records – I live a good hour and a half from there – but it will take a bit of time to copy and organize everything. I promise I will let you know when I get this done, but in the meantime I’ve typed up Sarah Emaline’s obit for you, word for word.
OBITUARY
Sarah Emaline Hill, daughter of John and Elendar Hill, was born Feb. 8, 1836, near Houston, and departed from this life December 27, 1918, aged 82 years, 10 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to John Carmichael, June 28, 1855 (this is recorded in the Bible records as well), and to this union five children were born, three having preceded her to the grave. She leaves to mourn for her, one son, John William Carmichael, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Brown, both of this place; thirteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Barker, of Sardas, Ohio, and two brothers, Scott and James Hill of Oklahoma, also a host of relatives and friends. She united with the M. E. Church in early girlhood and was a faithful member until death.
Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church Sunday morning by Rev. Weever, of Freetown, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Houston cemetery by the side of her husband.
--------

I am actively working on this project, so you will be hearing from me.
Thanks again, DJ

Lexington Leader newspaper, Lexington, KY
Tuesday 27 March 1934; Page 3, Column 4

London Man Jailed for Slaying Father

London, KY March 27, AP - Charged for fatally shooting his father and wounding his mother, Robert Johnson, 30, was in the Laurel County jail today, held without bond.

Arresting officers said they were told Johnson carried a suitcase full of whisky home Monday night, and his father, Will Henry Johnson, 55, ordered him to take it away. During the ensuing argument the father struck at his son with a broom handle, and the son opened fire, killing his father and slightly wounding his mother in the arm.

A coroner's jury gave a verdict that Will Henry Johnson came to his death by wounds from a gun in the hands of Robert Johnson. The father was a CWA worker. The family recently moved to London from an outlying section of Laurel County.

RE: Mary Edna Robinson Johnson
Hello

7729876 Sarah Johnson is in a row all by herself.
I will look at moms Pictures and see if maybe she missed any names when she put in pictures.

Mom said she almost missed her stone while she was out there

Mom says this family we are working on is probably some of the the people who have just blocks sticking up.

There has got to be a old list of people who are in this cemetery some where. Over the summer as I visit We will ask some of the family if they know anyone who might know.

Lutitia (Gregory) Bowling was a mid wife back then and no one seams to know where her records went.

Moms says she may have to buckle down and have to go to church at New Salem and ask some questions.
