Lottie Gene Davis Union Cemetery?
I am sorry to say that I have no information to share on Lottie. I did not find an obit for her.

You may wish to contact Union Cemetery directly to see if she is buried there. I know that volunteers are working on the cemetery, but do not know how far along they are on entering memorials.

You can contact the cemetery here:

Historic Union Cemetery
730 E. Potomac Avenue,
Bakersfield, CA 93307
PH: (661) 324-9648
Fax: (661) 324-3024

I moved away from the area, so have no way to check this out for you.

Good luck,

Thank you for the gravestone photo
William, thank you very much for taking and posting the photo of Amelia Dudley's gravestone in Oaklawn Memorial Park in El Campo. She is the grandmother of a friend and we both very much appreciate this.

RE: Photo Request
Sometimes the maps of the cemetery. If it is a smaller section, the spaces are bigger and easier to find. Bigger sections equal smaller spaces. I was way off finding my family in Enid. Where I thought they were, they were not even in the section I looked.

RE: Photo Request

I wanted to let you know that I was unable to locate Margaret and check to see if she has a marker today. I have a map that shows where she is located at, but finding the location was difficult, and the office was closed for the day.

I am planning to go back to Enid next spring and will keep her information in my folder. I will also check for a marker then.

Sorry I was unable to fulfill the request.

RE: Photo Request
I had another request that came up yesterday, so I will be in touch with the cemetery and will ask if there is a stone sometimes next week.

Photo Request

I will be in Enid around the fifteen of this month, doing family research and noticed you had a request. Are you still interested?

I noticed that there was a problem locating Margaret. I have sent a letter to the cemetery asking for the location they have, and will do everything I can to find her.

What I like to do is to take photos of the headstone and send it to the person who requested it. That way you can edit it the way you want and then post it on the website.

I also don't want the credit. I am already there, so finding another person is not a problem.

If that works, please let me know.

Have a great evening,

Dear Mr. Carradine;

1st. I fixed the Yazoo City Monument Beverly;s Mama
Is it Ok now????

# 2. Modesda; I looked at the Girod Cemetery in New Orleans and I think that is out. I did not find anything and gave up. For our purposes, I would think she is either buried at Girod with her daddy or maybe Beverly buried here in Vicksburg.

Please comment.

No, I am not related to the Carradine family.
My interest.
I have been researching local Methodist History for many years. I noticed Reverend Beverly Carradine is buried in the Vicksburg City Cemetery.
As you know, he was quite famous in the Methodist Holiness Movement which was a big deal from soon after the Civil War until about WW1 or maybe WW2.
I would like to fill in the gaps. Later I plan to try to nominate him as a Find a Grave Famous Person. I think he is qualified.
Please help me.
This is a new experience for me and I do not know.

I didn't know the family and haven't been able to get back to the cemetery. Will try some time after the rainy season to go and check out about stones.
I do believe they are family.

No, I'm not suggesting anyone has been moved.

There are 2 cemeteries by the same name in McLennan Co. Your memorials are now at a rural African American cemetery named Chapel Hill Cemetery.

You might check with the cemetery office at the other cemetery called Chapel Hill Memorial Park. That might be where they are buried. Many folks get confused!

St Mathew and Nesbit
Hi Wiliam,

Sorry it took so long for me to get back with you. I did a bit of research on St Mathew and so far only show the one cemetery under that name that I shared with you. It's odd that there would not be two listed on genweb as Jane McManus was very thorough documenting cemeteries, so I wondered if it might have been called by another name. Normally I would have done a lot more digging, but I am out of country, so time is limited.

As for my Nesbits; I really do not know much about them. James Nesbit was a grandfather and was born in Maine. He went to Illinois and married my great grandma, but ultimately went back to Maine without her and the children; absenting himself from the family for whatever reason.

This is his memorial:

Do you see a connection with your Nesbits? Myself and another family member have run into some serious brick walls about this fella.

Hi William- I have check all three St. Patrick cemeteries and the state death records and do not find her either. Sorry I have been out of town and just got home. I will check further tomorrow and see what I can find. I may have to go back to St. Pat's #1. There is a possibility that her stone was not engraved, which has happened. Regardless, I will see what I can find. If you don't hear from me in a few days, please feel free to remind me.
