You have added a group photo taken at a cemetery. I was wonder if you know who the people are and or, would one of them be Sarah Lee Tompkins, Delk, Brooks?
Is this the interment of Effie's "Brooks" husband in 1951? I was working on James Logan Delk, Sarah Tompkins first husband and would love to see a photo of Sarah. I have no idea what the woman looked like.
Thanks for any time you ca afford me on this.

You are so welcome. Her memorial was in the wrong cemetery. The little Sells cemetery where she is buried is on the Fentress/Overton County line at the top of the mountain where the road ends. Beautiful little cemetery! I'm descended from Sells as well!

I have to tell you how I was able to get this photo. Our DAR chapter went to the cemetery yesterday with the local cemetery committee. While they mapped the grounds we did our best to locate and clean the graves. Only two stones are still standing (one is unmarked) and another is propped up with a stick. We did our best but at the end of the day we were unable to locate Sarah's and Virginia's stones, which we new had been identified not long ago. As Elizabeth is my fifth great grandmother, I had a special interest in finding and preserving these sites. So as we gathered around the surveying stand listening to the mapper explain his map, I stepped back slightly and wobbled on my feet. I looked down, thinking I had been standingg on a stump. But a closer look showed I had Been standing on Sarah's stone!! I cleared the brush and voila...there she was! It was the perfect end to a great day.

Hi Theresa,

I'm happy to help. I also added photos for Geesje Lenters, who I assume was Gerrit's wife. It was a multi-day process, as both markers were overgrown with moss, weeds etc. I cleaned up the monuments and the lot, and let the sunshine do the rest. Even though the inscription is faded I think you can read the information.

Thanks,

Eddie

Thought you would want to know a lady from the Daughters of American Revolution in Texas has contacted our local DAR chapter requesting work and and a REV WAR Marker for Levi Casey's wife buried in this cemetery. Our DAR referred it to the cemetery committee who met today and a decision was made that the Casey cemetery is first priority due to condition of graves. A field day has been scheduled for Nov 1 and I will be there. Will try to locate and photograph your request at that time. Once the cemetery is restored I expect DAR will place a marker and possibly have a dedication ceremony. Anyone wanting more details please email me clynndel@comcast.net

Do you have directions or location of theCasey cemetery in Florence Lauderdale County AL. I know DAR is considering a Revolutionary War Soldier Marker for someone there and there is a photo request that I would take if I can find it

RE: Abraham Henderson Clak
Hello Theresa,
It was so nice to hear from you! A.H.Clark was the paternal grandfather of my father, Denver Tafton Clark. I have a tree in progress on ancestry.com. If you would like to view it, send me an email and I will add you as a member. We might find out how we are related and share information. I am collecting as much as possible and in touch with the Garretts and the Clarks.

Take care,

Hello,

Thanks for the note. I'm not the person who added the photo of the gravestone in 2012, which obviously is for the wrong Robert Field. I will ask that it be moved to the right Robert.

Hey Theresa,
I had already taken the picture but I failed to upload it to FindAGrave. Thanks for reminding me. My mind tends to wander. It may wander back and it may not. HA!

William Townsend Becket
I care for an 83 year old woman who has Alzheimer's. One of her few pleasures is her family history - her long term memory is still quite good. Today I was able to find a picture of Capt. William Townsend Becket's grave stone. That's her maternal great grandfather. This picture, as well as the name of the cemetery will bring her much joy.

Thank you Theresa for you dedication and work.

You're welcome. Next to Hemmo is Jantje DeVries Hoffenkamp (1852-1913). If that was his wife and you want to create a memorial for her I can add that picture as well. Let me know.
