RE: Seymour Judd
If you'd like, I can contact the cemetery board and request their permission to excavate it. I'm a professional archaeologist and have done this in the past. If at anytime I feel the marker is too unstable, I stop the entire process.

RE: Seymour Judd

You are very welcome. I would like to uncover the marker, but it is very unstable and likely to break if the soil were removed. If you are a family member, you may be able to ask for a replacement headstone from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs National Cemetery Administration.

James Zambori
We walked Gatlin Cemetery twice this morning. We did not find Mr. Zambori. This does not mean that he is not there. Gatlin Cemetery has several unmarked graves and lots of graves marked only with "temporary" funeral home markers - many of which are so old that they are unreadable.

RE: Jane Mahaffy Potter
I could try to "transcribe" it ....maybe by doing a "rubbing"...I will try, but will not get back out there in that area until after the Labor Day weekend....would that be okay?

It is apparent, based on the inscription, that Clark was David and Mary Jane's baby. He was a little over a month old. I will post shortly.

Hi Kim,
I posted photos for Mary Jane and David Churchill. There was also a Clark A in their plot. If you want his photos, just post a request. I also ran across a few other Churchills in the cemetery: Barney and Amelia, and Effie and Carey. I took photos of them as well if you are interested.

another pic
I took so many pics today I forgot I had two pics of the lot.The north side and the south. As the records do not indicate who is in which grave or where the individual graves are I broke it down into the side Henriette has a marker and the side with Fred's marker.I'll upload the other to complete the scene.

RE: Schlafer
The picture is of the grave and surroundings. The marker in the background is Henriette Schroer.I thought a picture only of grass would not suffice.

Go to and type in the section and lot.The names of all the Schlafers and others buried there will appear.

My mistake...Henriette Schroer not Schlafer has a marker

Your request at Walnut Hills did not have a marker.I went through the records and found there are many Schlafers in the lot but only Henriette and Fred have markers.I have those pics if you want to create memorials and make requests.I added a pic of the lot on your memorial.

"Estrella" Cemetery
Hi Kim -
I'm hoping to clear up a little thing I see on Find a Grave.

The photos for "Estrella" Cemetery are actually of Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Pleasant Valley Cemetery isn't known as "Estrella."

Estrella Adobe Cemetery is located behind Estrella Adobe Church, which is located a few miles to the south of Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

This website is quite informative on the cemeteries in S.L.O. County.

Here's a good list of the cemeteries in S.L.O. County:

Adelaide Cemetery
Arroyo Grande Cemetery
Atascadero - Pine Mountain Cemetery
Cambria Cemetery
Cayucos - Morro Bay Cemetery
Creston Cemetery
Estrella Cemetery Historic Adobe Church Cemetery
Halcyon Cemetery - Temple of the People
Los Osos Valley Memorial Park
Mennonite Cemetery - Willow Creek
Paso Robles District Cemetery
Pleasant Valley Cemetery
Pleyto Cemetery
Pozo Cemetery Historic Cemetery
Saint Patrick's Cemetery Arroyo Grande
San Luis Cemetery [Lawn Memorial - IOOF]
San Miguel Cemetery
Santa Margarita Cemetery
Santa Rosa Catholic Cemetery - Cambria
Shandon Cemetery
Templeton Cemetery

Check it out when you have time.
