Dear Cheryle,
I am most unhappy to hear that you are not well. It is my hope that this is just a temporary "thing" and that you will soon bounce back and be adding your wonderfully done memorials to F*A*G. This site needs more persons, such as yourself, who see it as a place for sharing of information for future researchers who are yet to be born.
You have done so much to help me and I am sure please in that spirit know that I will pray for your health and continued well being.
With affection and caring,

RE: Charles Deeds
You're welcome. Sorry there was no stone, I looked for a stone last year and didn't find one, but never got around to checking with the cemetery sextant before. Thanks.

I went to Hampton National yesterday to check on the status of adding this person to her husbands marker. Surprised they had used the original marker and added her on the reverse side. Done in one month is a good response. Took a photo but Charles had uploaded one. Glad we were able to give her a marked grave. Sorry you are having some health issues. Hopefully I can be some help in the future if my old legs hold out.

Met with VA staff and it was confirmed, by computer and old index cards, that she is buried with her husband. Stated they would do some more research and would probably replace the marker. Also stated this, not updating the marker, has been found in the past. Will make checks on this site and post a photo when/if it is changed. US government, so don't expect any fast action.

Drazilla Booth
Thanks for the information. Four different sources has her buried in section B Plot 11216.The only name on the marker at this location is Ezra Booth. I have been there 3 times and checked the graves near this one hoping to find her. No luck. Wives are buried with their husbands in military cemeteries but her name should have been on the opposite side. The back side is blank. I will visit the cemetery director tomorrow and hope to get an answer.

Burial Plot Hampton National cemetery shows Ezra Booth. Drazilla is shown as a dependent on Va
grave locater, Hampton National computer and
shown in this grave on interment. Who is
Drazilla? Wife or child of Ezra. She could be
buried in the same plot but marked on opposite side of stone. There is no marking for her. If
she is buried here along with her husband, let
me know and I can take this up with the Va office. There is already a photo marker for Ezra
at Find A Grave.

Photo for William Cookman (#46500251)
I fulfilled the photo request for William Cookman. I wanted to let you know that I have second photo that shows the writing a little more clearly, though it is hard to read overall. Let me know if you are interested in a second photo.

You wrote: Do you know Todd Somers, my 3rd cousin? He lives on Warren Bridge Road at the corner of Hunting Creek.

Not personally, but he lives very near my brother on Crater Road. While I was in NC, my cousin told me that I should call Todd as he is the genealogist in that area. Mike T is also very knowledgeable.

Yes, I am related to Dr. Preston Somers also. He was doc to family members. I am related to the Irelands, Rashes, etc. Many of my relatives moved from NC to Indiana and some were born there also.

I will try to get the links to your family soon per your suggestion

Cheryle Latour;

Thank you so kindly for the photo contribution. What a treasure. I really loved the Coopers at Zion. As kid growing up, I remember them in church and Sunday School. My mom died in Jul 2012 and I went down. My brother iook a lot of photos. She and my father are buried a little back of and not far from the Cooper graves.

Thomas Hugh Cooper
Glenn - I added a photo of his cemetery marker to his memorial I took in 2004 while at the Zion Baptist Church. He was my great granduncle. If you would like it removed please let me know. I wanted to get a better picture, but due to ill health I have not been able to go back and get another. - Cheryle Latour in Indiana

You are so sweet. You are doing great. The best thing about all this is you are free the research any way u want with passion.
I recommend you save your sources. Especial family members.

Try hard to find something
that lists her parents. May not have been digitized. Your headack with her is there seems to be2 or 3 ladies with the same name. I had to stop when I check WA state archives and saw a long list of Lillian marriages. :( This is a free sight. You may see clues I did not.
The other angle you already mentioned is go to her last residence (town) and see if they have a historic society or call the local librarian. In my family not all got an obit, but they are all in the town archives. Funny where stuff is.
Also is a quiet NE town the librain went to the cemetery for me and took a picture of the grave because she new the graveyard keeper would charge me, and she did not think that was ok. There are nice helpful people everywhere.
With you in spirit, Jo
PS do you want her folks?

another possible clue
I think the little room the parents are in is Catholic. Usally great record keepers. I would look for where she transferred to possibly when she married, or later.? Good luck and keep me in the loop.

Cheryl - Hello
I also contacted the creator and received the corrected info.
Mt Emblem is actually in Elmhurst, IL, about 13 mi. east of Wheaton, just south of O'Hare Airport.
I'm originally from Elmhurst, so in there quite often. Will try to get the pics asap, next time I'm in there.
Take care & Happy New Year!
