RE: Just found Paul Barilla's gravestone
Hi Patrick,

I'm glad you found a picture. I am often near this cemetery though, so if there are any photos you need, I can try my best to get them.

Thank you,
Chelsea

Carol Graves
RE: William F Hill
No, I am not.
When I had the request I noticed that the other head stones were next to Louisa so I took them and added to find-a-grave.
My husband was the caretaker of Lassen Cemetery, so I have a list from the county of those buried there up to 2002.
There are about 7 more Hills' that needed to be added.
When the ground isn't so muddy I will take the pictures and add to find-a-grave.

Yes, I've sent LARGE amount of documentation to Find A Grave website "guru", in hopes of having all of that submitter's very incorrect/incomplete and duplicate memorials deleted from the Chico Cem list. Waiting response, but these things always take a lot of time.

RE: Erastus Ashley
No, not related, just augmenting the CW memorials at Chico Cem as I'm working on a project for the 2013 Memorial Day event held there. Thank you for the confirmation. There is a listing, which I've found has multiple errors showing an Erastus G. Ashley and an Eratus Smith Ashley. Now I can confirm that the former is in error, the latter correct, and delete the duplication.

That was the only one in the entire cemetery. We decided to take it anyway.

You are most welcome. It's always unfortunate when a headstone is missing, but hopefully the info. from the records will be of some value to you.

Unfortunately, there was no marker for Nancy. The cemetery records list her but apparently the stone may have been damaged and possibly lost. I uploaded a photo of the plot where the records stated she was interred.

I did, however, upload photos of her husband Nathaniel.

RE: Maxwell Cemetery
Patrick, it was a real challenge for us. The cemetry had no plot plan. It is a very old cemetry and had been neglected for many years. there are four other Hastings there beside this one. Could they be related too. After contacting a lady, that's on the cemetry board of directors, She had started the restoration of this cemetry because her parents are buried there, she looked in her books and came out, showed us exactly where to look and bingo there it was. will send pictures for you. RE: Jacob Bliss photo at Rehoboth Cem
Nothing on the gravestone and no flags, which are usually placed if he was a veteran. However, I did find this on the internet:
"A Mr. Jacob Bliss and Jacob, Jr., took the oath of allegiance to the commonwealth of Massachusetts in March of 1787 and delivered up their arms to the government, they having engaged in the [so called] Shay insurrection." (Source: GENEALOGY OF THE BLISS FAMILY IN AMERICA, by Aaron Tyler Bliss)

Martha
RE: Lucy Peirce
Hi there,

Yes, her name was spelled this way on her gravestone. A lot of times you will find that the spelling of names in the 18th and 19th centuries was inconsistent. A frustrating, but common, fact... :-)

Thanks!

Martha
