Bio

I was born in Swink, Oklahoma 20 Aug 1938, the youngest son of Sidney Tolbert (Tollie) Strain Sr & Mabel Carolyn Rainey. I was raised in Swink attending Swink & Ft Towson schools. My last 1 1/2 years of school were in Arlington, TX before quitting and joining the US Navy in October 1955. I met my future wife, Peggy Janette Cox while attending Arlington High. We were married 11 May 1956 after I graduated from Class "A" Pipe Fitter School. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on 11 May 2006.

I spent 20 years in the US Navy retiring in 1975. I then moved back to Swink, OK working for Brown & Root and Weyerhaeuser at the Valliant, OK plant for 23 years.

After retirement I became interested in genealogy and have been following my roots since 2000 and have enjoyed every minute of it. At present I have 7141 people connected in my file.

My major lines are Strain, Davis, Rainey, Cox, Fortner and anyone who is connected. It has been an amazing journey and have met so many people in the process and received quite an education. I just found out last week that Haltom City, TX is named after my 3rd cousin once removed.
