RE: Douglas Robert Shewan
I had this man on one of my old lists. I notice his memorial photos are incorrect, stating no marker. I have located his and his wife's markers. If you create a new photo request for him and add a memorial and a photo request for his wife Mary Martha Shewan. I will claim and fill your request asap.

Mary Shewan, (died 2004)
Hello again,

I have been in touch with Inverness Crematorium about Mary Shewan. They were able to confirm that she was cremated in Inverness, but her ashes were buried in Cannich Cemetery and there is a headstone.

If you transfer the memorial to Cannich Cemetery and request a photo from there, I'll try to visit and photograph the grave.

Best wishes,

Fiona

Mary Shewan, Inverness (died 2004)
Hello G Shewan,

I noticed your photo request for Mary Shewan, who was cremated in Inverness. You have asked for a photo of her memorial in Inverness cemetery. Have her ashes been buried there? (This cemetery is more correctly known as Tomnahurich Cemetery, Inverness, although, confusingly interments have been recorded on Findagrave under both names - causing some duplication of memorials)

I would be happy to look for Mary Shewan's memorial marker if you can confirm that it is in Tomnahurich cemetery and can provide me with a plot number - it is a very large cemetery. Are there other family members in the same lair - if so what are their names?

Kind regards,

Fiona

You posted a grave photo for John R. Redman, Find A Grave Memorial# 49355066. He and his wife Elizabeth Clemons Redman are buried in the same plot—would you post the same grave photo for her at Find A Grave Memorial# 49355048? Thank you THR/Bob

North Shore Crematorium, North Vancouver
I was writing as I had family experiences with North Shore Crematorium, they are not even named that now. It seems they were bought out by Dignity, quite a few years ago. Shows my age.

William A. McKay
Permission to use your image
Hello, My name is William A. McKay, in Newark, Delaware, who has seen an image On Find A Grave which I would like to use.

I am very near the end on a book about Delaware Photographers 1839 to 1900 and beyond. I have a number of images (about 55) of tombstones in Delaware and other states.

I would like to have your permission to use your image of Edwin H. Cooper's tombstone who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. This image will NOT be in the book! But, it would be on a flash drive that anyone who purchases the book would have access to. I understand your position but the image of the tombstone will not be in print in the book.

Whose who purchase the book, have to sign a document that the book and all items on the flash drive is strictly for their personal use. Another way to look at it is, if any new information comes along, the owner can print off a page and lay it in the book, because no 2nd edition is going to happen.

Sincerely,
William A. McKay

Thank You
This is going to be a rare heartfelt message to you.
You originally Created a person here on find a grave.
It is Colin F. Vorder Bruegge. I have searched years without success on what had happened to him after he retired. He was the Commanding General at Walter Reed when I first came to serve at Walter Reed in 1970. I joined the Army in 1970 and found myself surrounded by Generals and I was just a PFC and Sp/4 during my time there. I see you have let someone else take care of the site here, but I had to come and let you know from a girl age 18 during the Viet Nam War him and his wife opened their hearts and even their home to me. Here is a picture you might like to see of him as I knew him

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Major_General_Colin_F_Vorder_Bruegge.jpg

You will never know how much it means to have found his and his wife's resting place and greatly just to be found in Arlington.

Was doing a few photos within the cemetery and noticed this one had a good glare from the sun so I grabbed another one with it being overcast. If you like it better let me know and I can add to her husband as well or can just remove it.

If you are related to Noble Bruce Pearen, then you are related to me through our mutual ancestor, Robert Eady who served in the British Army 37th Regiment of Foot at Gibraltar in 1813. He came to Canada before 1817.

Kinloss Abbey Cemetery - Shewan family
Hi,

I am on holiday in Moray, Scotland at the moment and I have been to Kinloss Abbey cemetery a couple of times to try to find the grave of Mr John Shewan for you. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find it yet. I have found, and photographed, the headstones of Charles Shewan (died 1972) and Diane Grace Shewan (died 1963) also in Kinloss Abbey cemetery. Would you like me to send you these pics?

Kind regards,

Dawn Stewart

Thanks for the note, but it's not memorial. I only took the photo of the gate. You need to contact J. Edward Ross who created the memorial. Mr. Ross is very good at military memorials.

Gerald,
I will not submit photos per your request. As well, there were no other Shewans in this cemetery as I was looking for the other names you had listed. Best of luck in your search.

Ronald W. & Ruth M. Shewan
I have seen the headstone for Ronald W. Find A Grave #103937833 and Ruth M. Find A Grave #103937917 in the North Embro Cemetery in Ontario. However, there is no death date carved into the headstone as yet, only birth dates. Do you still want me to post a photo? Thank you.
