James Conner (1771-1851)
Dear Mr. "Vlang" I am searching for information about John Conner who is one of the first white settlers in Putnam County, WV< and is buried in the Old Hurricane Cemetery behind the First Baptist Church.

Your info states that he was born in Pickaway County, OH, and delivered to the Shawnee as part of the price for Margaret Boyer, his mother.

I am preparing a centennial history for Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church in Hurricane. Forrest Burdette, for whom the church was dedicated, is a great-great grandson of James Conner.

I would very much appreciate any assistance you might offer in learning the story of James and the Shawnee, and how he came to live in what is now Putnam County, WV. His will is on file here.

Hi Vlang, I could not access their cemetery records. They don't appear to be in FindaGrave.

Thanks,

Hamilton
Hi, I found an indication that John and Margaret E Hamilton are buried at Colusa Community Cemetery. They are not included in FindaGrave. How do I find out if they are buried there?
Thanks,

R. Jeanne Moran
Emaline Connor Cahill
Since Emaline was known nearly all of her life as Emma, died as Emma, and is etched in stone as Emma, would you consider leaving her name on Find A Grave as Emma Connor Cahill and making a note in your text to indicate that her proper name was Emaline? If someone is looking for her on Find A Grave, they will be looking for Emma Cahill, not Emaline. The same purpose is served by indicating her birth name in the text.

Ooops!
Hi Verna,
I just read your request to ask first before adding photos. I added a couple to Ella Lee's memorial page before I saw that - sorry! You can delete them if you want to. I used PhotoShop to correct the perspective in the photo of your framed portrait on the wall and clean up the spots and I added one of her when she was young that we both love (which probably came from you!). By the way, her bio needs some minor updating. It mentions Monroe Co., Missouri and we had more recently discovered that that was the wrong family. Our Lees were never in Monroe - only in Howard Co. and Saline Co., MO. They came to Missouri from Patrick Co., VA in 1819 (or so) and left in 1845.

Hi. I think I got you mixed up with one of the other Goforth relations. I apologize. I am related to the Goforth family via the Purcell's. My 3x Great Grandmother was Laura Purcell, sister of George Purcell.

RE: Jeremiah
Thank you for posting. I will do some more research. Sadly, I have had this bit of info for a long time with no documentation. I will need to check back in my hard copy. I hesitated posting what I had without the necessary documentation but I am glad I did. It opened a way for contact. I belong to a FB group called Lambert Lines. You need to check us out. Most of us east of the Mississippi but are connected to many who went west.

Keziah "Cuzzie" Cole Conner
Hello V Lang
Do you have any family information regarding Keziah's mother and father? I have her mother as Marla/Massie/Massa Underwood Cole. I have her dad as William Bird Cole. Bird Cole later married a Sarah Elizabeth Underwood and had several children. Marla/Massie/Massa had 3 children with William Bird Cole...but I haven't found a record of marriage for them.
I have found "Massa Cole" living with Keziah and Aaron Conner (Her daughter and son-in-law).
I need a record proving William Bird Cole and Marla/Massie/Massa Underwood Cole are Keziah's mother and father.

If you can help, I would be most appreciative! (And that's an understatement!).
William Bird Cole is my 3ggggrandfather.
