I have posted a picture of this gentleman's tombstone, but it is at Riverside in Cambridge City, not in New Lisbon. If you wish me to delete the picture, please let me know.

Hannah Conner
It was the surname of Snivley, not Shroyer, who had the note in the Bible.

Hannah Conner
Patrick and Hannah Conner were also my great great great grandparents. We have always been told that Hannah's maiden name was Layton, but now I doubt that is true. Bethel has been mentioned in a Conner family Bible. In this bible, Mrs. Shroyer notes that William Washington Conner was the cousin of John and Molly Bethel. Mrs. Shroyer was the mother-in-law of Dora Conner Shroyer. Dora was the daughter of William W. Conner. Ohio marriage records show that a Patrick Conner and Hannah Bethel were married in 1823 in Ohio. Patrick is the administrator of Edward Bethel in 1834 Fo. Co. court records. Edward had a son George, who married Ruth Nelson. George and Ruth were the parents of John and Molly Bethel. I can send you a picture of the page of the Conner family bible.

Henry Patrick Connor Find A Grave Memorial# 17637543
Hello again!

Forget my question about Henry's wife's name. I just found a record on Ancestry for a Henry P Conner who married a Maria McClelland on 2 Jan 1874 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

Thanks.

Hi,

I believe your ancestor Henry Patrick Connor who commited suicide in Rossville, Vermilion, IL was married to a distant cousin of mine, Amelia Marie McClellan. Can you tell me why you believe his wife's name was Amelia Marie Wood?

In researching him on Ancestry.com I came across your Find A Grave entry and the story of his death.

Below is my transcription of two newspaper notices of his death that I found on GenealogyBank.com. I think they will answer some questions for you.

Killed Himself
Hoopston, Ill., May 6. - Henry P. Conner, at his home is [sic] in Rossville, six miles south of this city, deliberately shot himself with a revolver, causing instantaneous death. Sixteen years ago he murdered Harvey Steward, deputy sheriff of this county, who was attempting to arrest Conner for cattle stealing. Conner was acquitted at Paris, Edgar County, Dan Voorhees being his attorney.

This man is an ancestor. You added a piece of paper listing his service in the War of 1812 to his memorial. Would you mind telling me what that is and where the original is located so I can make a copy of it? Thank you for your help.

My F.A.G. number is 48160551.

Hi Sue- I am leaving message here too because email come back to me.

I was wondering if you would link Jennie Tabitha Boxell Brooks (#65362183) to her parents: Jane Cora Elwood Boxell (#116090672) and John Boxell (#125446605) so she could also be linked with her siblings which I maintain. My great-grandmother, Viola Boxell Saxon was her younger sister.

Thanks very much.

Some list her as Mary Mercy (Ellison) Paul and some as Mary Massey (Ellison) Paul. Q. Was she an Ellison who first married a Massey and then a Paul? Why the confusion? if you know.

I've transferred the memorials to you. Hannah is a distant cousin through the Bales/Beals line, but you are much more closely related, so I have no trouble with transferring them.

Did you ever get Debi to make the corrections you asked of her?

I've asked her over and over for corrections/
additions on several memorials and nothing happens.
I've asked Find A Grave and evidently she's still active.
