Elijah Anderson Miller. Could you look more closely at his tombstone for dates of birth and death. You have 25 Nov 1883- 30 Oct 1894. That would make him 11 years old. You have added a wife. I looked at the tombstone and it looks like died 20 years , months and days. Not able to see the writings, but know something is amiss.

Anne Nelson
Carson mother and daughter-in-law
I am looking for the graves of Amanda Row Carson nee Curtis and her daughter-in-law, Amber May Carson nee Deaton. In April 1892, Amber became very ill and Amanda went to "Waller County" to tend her. Amber died and three days later, on 22 April, Amanda died.

We have been unable to locate where they were buried. When I saw the unknown matching stones,I wondered -- maybe. Is there any way to guess at the time of burial, given which part of cemetery ? I would be grateful for any conjecture you or others may have.
Thanks for all you do!

Claud & Martha Ellen Baldwin
My grandparents, Claud & Martha Ellen Baldwin, are buried in the Dale Cemetery. A Rita Osborne has posted their daughter as Martha Lea Baldwin Jan. 22, 1926 - Feb. 12, 1926 Memorial #115079055. At the time she posted this child in the family, Claud & Martha Ellen Baldwin's daughter, Martha Lee Ellis was not deceased. I contacted Rita Osborne and gave her this information. I can no longer contact her and hope you can help me remove Martha Lea Baldwin from the family. Claud Baldwin Memorial #25409873 and Martha Ellen Baldwin Memorial #25410004 are the parents of Martha L. Ellis Memorial #137325739, wife of Jesse J. Ellis. Martha died May 1, 2014.

Grave Memorial #7455509
I sent you a memo yesterday when I was adding edits to this grave. I guess you may not have gotten them so here goes. Leatha Anne Tillery was my Grandmother's(Florence Elizabeth Wade Howell Wilson) Father's(John Wallace Wade) second wife. Grandma grew up with 7 step sisters and 3 step brothers. I remember several of them myself and most of them are buried right there at Fields Store. Leatha"s Father was James Madison Tillery and her Mother was Elizabeth Free and she was born in Barbour Co., Alabama.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know she's not in this cemetery. I will remove her name. I added her there with the info on her death certificate that just says burial in Pattison. I also added Mary Branch, #149684952, to this cemetery and will remove her as well. I noticed that you added Mary's death certificate and it also just says burial in Pattison.

I was just looking at other cemeteries in Waller County and I found the Clemons Cemetery in Pattison that has African Americans in it. Do you know if this is the only African American cemetery in Pattison?

Photos taken by you - various Waller Cemeteries
Dear Mr. McKay:
I have received numerous requests in the past month asking that I re-take photos of headstones for memorials originally created by you and/or photographed by you. Each request is punctuated with the frustration that, in order to get a good exposure and detail on the headstone, you have "chalked" the gravestone. I'm merely passing this information on to you that someone, in this case me, is having to go back and re-do your work. Geologically speaking, according to several of my engineering and contractor friends [not to mention genealogy groups and forums], "chalking" a porous headstone is about the worst thing one can do. You're probably aware that many of the old stones here in Texas are composed of limestone - a soft, porous material that, sadly, doesn't stand up well to the ravages of weather and time. I'm merely passing on the complaints of at least 25 folks who've asked me to re-take your pictures and sharing info on the "chalking" issue. No bashing intended in this message. I truly appreciate all you do for FindaGrave.
