Dean family
I wanted to say thank you for all the time and effort you have devoted to documenting my family members and of course other families as well. I have just recently returned to researching my family genealogy this summer and because of your work it has been much easier than it was 20 years ago. Again, thank you. Just curious are you a member of the Dean family?

Tim, My apologies for not having read your note sooner. Been asleep, it would appear. Yes, that would be a tough name to carry around; and I thought mine was bad. Dick

Traci Barbour
Headstones Johnston County
Hello Tim,

Very long time since you and I spoke. I think I remembered you and Cherie tracking down Plyer Barber's headstone on a piece of land there off Federal Road there in Johnston County. I think Cherie told me the land is owned by a Cathy Barber who is descended from Plyer Barber. Anyway, I have some pictures of headstones from a Parish and a Harper that are only a few feet away from Plyer's grave. I'd like to pick your brain about any info you might have about the land and if it's still in the Barber ownership.

I hope this finds you well since it's been at least 2 years ago since we spoke.

Best Regards
Traci Barbour

William Ellis
Hephzibah Cemetery
Hello Sir, my name is Scott Ellis. I have many members of my family buried in this grave yard and I have also visited it many times. I read your story about how you have been doing this for 50 some years. I am hoping you can help me locate some members of my direct family line. My Grandparents were from Eagle Rock. They are Gidion Ellis and Jacob Ellis record state that they are buried in the family grave yard but I am having no luck finding them. I was hoping you might have run across them in all your works. Would you please contact me so we can talk. My Family line is also Scarborough and Liles. My Phone number is 814-648-0091 Thank you for your time. Scott

Bedford Riley

Bedford Riley is my great grandfather and I have researched this family for quite sometime. Do you have any addition information on him? He had several children my grandmother Nannie Riley for one. It seems the great majority of them are buried at Rose of Sharron Baptist Church.

Obit for Rosa Lee Glenn - 38728398
Hello Tim,

I wanted to ask if you had any further information regarding something odd I saw in an obituary for Rosa Lee Carrington Glenn. (#38728398)

The obit says: "Mrs. Glenn was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Wyche and Ida Lee Mayton Carrington."

Near as I can tell, her mother was named Ida Castle. Wyche and Ida had at least 6 children, most of whom have passed on, and the death certs all refer to her as Ida Castle. I don't see a Mayton reference at all.

I am pretty sure Ida Castle was sister to the wife of William Washington Glenn, Addie Castle, but have not yet confirmed that suspicion.

If you know where 'Mayton' came from I'd love to know!

Amy Barber
Hey Tim,

I haven't spoken to you in years - I hope this finds you well.
In your travels around Johnston, do you recall off the top of your head, locating a burial for an Amy Barber? The grave marker would be over 100 years old and could be just a handful of miles from Plyer Barber's burial location. I think you and Cherie went out there a couple years ago and located it.

Thanks Tim!

I am researching my Grandfather's family name of Bryant. You have a picture of my 2nd Great Grandmother's headstone. I was wondering if you have pictures of others around hers? Is there a spouse? This is the information from your picture. Thanks so much for any help!

J T Huff Farm
Due to your interest in the Huff family, I thought you would be one to ask. There is a Coley Family Cemetery listed on findagrave in Vance County.

The description is as follows:

Vance County
North Carolina USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
source: Historical Records Survey of North Carolina, 1940, Worker: John J. Adams

Condition: Fair

Location: On the farm of J. T. Huff, 8 miles from Henderson, N. C. R. 2.

(directions from 1940)

Do you know where this "farm of J.T. Huff would have been?

David Carter
RE: Charlotte Blanche Carson Young
Hi Tim,

I have Carter relatives on both sides of my family, not related so far as I can tell. I don't know the names Oren or Elsie, but then I went to school with other Carter's that were not related.

You can transfer that memorial to me if you like. It took me a while to find it. Thought it would be in a Youngsville cemetery, since that's where she lived. Wound up in same cemetery as her parents and my grandparents.

RE: Re: Joan Canning

Her son is also buried there. Wondered if the connection was thru her mother's family.

Re: Joan Canning

Despite guidelines I will do it. I do have a question. Almost all of the folks in that cemetery are related to me - some very directly and others distant. I could never figure out how Joan was connected to the families there. I know her parents are there, but could never make any other connections.

Thanks so much for the transfer and for your efforts in getting him set up. I was not sure where he was buried. My mother pointed out the general area of the old homeplace but the house was gone by the time I was old enough to remember.
