Yes, Henry A. Hengel married my first grand aunt, Mary A. PALEN. I would love to have the information on the HENGEL family too. I could enter it into the familysearch, if it is not there already. I am retired. I love history too. I have the PALEN line back to 1700's, but not the HENGEL's. Thanks for contacting me. I have been working on my Daddy's line, the KONECNY's of Bohemia.
God bless you, Sally

Hi, I noticed that you made a note on this memorial that Catherine's stone was never found. I was walking the cemetery today taking photos for someone else and just happened to take one of Catherine's. It is now posted to her memorial. -- Beth

Thanks!
Thanks for fulfilling my photo request for for Vee Worthen in the Panquitch City Cemetery. To take the time to find and photograph headstones takes dedication of pure love and your contributions to this site are endless. It takes many volunteers, like yourself "to build the Find A Grave village." Your efforts have increased the value of this site for those seeking their roots. May you be blessed for your service, knowing the work is not in vain. John

Thank you for the photo and edit for Garry Jordan
I truly appreciate the edit--otherwise I wouldn't even have known the photo was added. This is kind of you!

There has been some conversations at the cemetery about the black lettering of head stones. I think it is a cemetery choice, but, don't know for sure. The director stated that there had been some problems with people using black markers to enhance the lettering and that was considered "Defacing Government Property".
As I stated previously: "I work on readability of the headstone". I have many posted that have an issue because of lighting and the angle that I have taken the picture. I am going thru them and retaking and will repost so they are readable.

RE: Omaha National Cemetery Pictures
My Gravestone pictures are a work in progress. I only live 3 miles from cemetery and volunteer there. I take a group of pictures then upload. If they don't turn out "readable" I retake. There are some posted now that I need to retake. "Readable" is my goal so they can be saved for posterity. My reason for adding the cemetery information and date is so that if/when the picture is separated from Find A Grave it still tells the whole picture. In my genealogy research I have found so many pictures that I wish I had names and places plus date/time frame. Once lost it cannot be recovered.
Safe travels. David

RE: Omaha National Cemetery Pictures
Thank you for the reply on the pictures of cemetery entrance. As you say I could also add my picture of the cemetery entrance. We could discuss all day long "whose" picture was better. But, this is not about a better picture. I think it is about a Memorial Site and honoring Veterans. If I were to add my picture then we would have three picture on a lot of memorials. To clean it up I would still have to remove the pictures I have added to each memorial. Your adding a picture was the simplest way to add a picture to all the memorials. So in the future as a memorial is added it will be automatically added to the memorial. In essence I created the problem so I will endeavor to solve it. I will be systematically removing my picture from the memorials. In the end that will leave each memorial as "clean" as it can be and there will be a minimum number of picture on each memorial.
Again, my apologies. I take these memorials serious and expect others to do so as well. Sincerely, David

You're right. She is a piece of work. She sent me a message a year ago, DEMANDING, I make a transfer to her so she could sponsor it. She also had a memorial for the same person, I notified find a grave, they deleted her memorial but merged some info.

When I refused, she called me names. Subsequently, she sent messages claiming to be the father, grandfather and family historian.

A year later she still wants the transfer. I told her nothing has changed. No idea who she is, but she should probably have her IP address blocked by find a grave.

She got my final reply, any further messages will be disregarded.

My sincerest apologies. Your explanation makes perfect sense after seeing what is going on. Foolish me. I could have added one picture and it would have appeared in all the memorials, as you did. I will "de-cluter" the memorials by removing my "Cemetery" sign and won't have to add that again when add stone pictures. Thank You. David

I pose this question in the kindest way that I can:
Why do you feel the urge to post a photo on top of my photo. Do some feel this is a contest to see who can post/collect the most memorials/photos. My way of thinking this is to make the nicest/cleanest memorial. And especially in honoring a Veteran we should make that the ultimate challenge. David

It Matters
Harmon Family
Are you researching the Harmon Family? My maternal grandmother was a Harmon and I am wondering if Mary Harmon Morris (28722886) was first married to Benjamin Pierce Harmon, with the maiden name Mary Howard. I am not asking for a transfer, only asking for information if you have any. Benjamin Harmon died when Mary was 35, so it is likely that she remarried. Thank you.

Miss Mary Clarey
Hi - Think the miss is a mistake. She was married to Frank Clarey. They are buried at Saint Dominics Cem. You are the caretaker of her memorial. It is Find A Grave# 32472203. She should be linked to her husband and parents.

Dorothy was a second wife. I found her married name after Aloiz and have since linked her Find a grave profile to Aloiz. I do not know when they married. Hope this clears it up a little.
