Gina enjoyed your story. I am formally Carol Neece. My father was Carroll Neece and his father was Herman B Neece, Moses's son. Herman married Pearl Carroll from Florida and they settled in Norfolk,Va where my father Carroll and my family grew up. My father Carroll Neece married Lucy Brock who was from Fayette, AL.Lucy came to Norfolk during WW II to work at the military bases where her brothers were stationed. There are many Brock's in Fayette, Al.
I have been researching the NEECE name for several years because of the unusual spelling. Not sure of the name origin and have found many different possible countries it may have originated.
Thanks for all you help in tracing the Neece family.

|Rob Rapier||Neece Logan|
My name is Rob Rapier. I am the great great great Grandson of Permelia Neece born 1814 and died 1869. Permelia married William Logan born 1814 and died in 1877.Although they had many children their son James Berry Logan is my great great Grandfather and spouse Mary Jane Williams. Their daughter Delilah Jane Logan born 1859 married James Henry Robinson born 1858. Their daughter Vivian Robinson born 1907 is my Grandmother. Vivian married Virgil H Guinn was born 1904. Their daughter Mary Kathleen Guinn born 1928 is my mother. Kathleen Guinn married Joseph Louis Rapier born 1925. They had me Robert Collin Rapier.
I don't know if you know that Permelia Neece's husband Williams Logan's parents are Reuben Butler Logan born 1794 and Elizabeth Engle born 1798.
Reuben's parents are Joseph D Logan born 1771 and Jane Butler Dandridge born 1783. Jane's parents are William Alexander Dandridge born 1750 and Elizabeth Ann Bolling born 1752.
Ann Bolling parents are John Kennon Bolling born 1700 and Mary Elizabeth Blair born 1708.
John Kennon Bolling's parents are Col John Fairfax Bolling born 1676 and Mary Kennon born 1679.
John's parents are Robert Thomas Bolling born 1646
and Jane Rolfe born 1650.
Jane Rolfe's parents are Thomas Powhatan Rolfe born 1614 and Jane Poythress born 1630.
Thomas p Rolfe's parents are Capt John Rolfe born 1585 and Rebecca Rolfe born 1595. The name Rebecca Rolfe most likely doesn't mean anything to you. But her real name I'm sure you have herd of her. It is Amonute Matoaka Powhatan. Better known as (Pocahontas) the famous Indian maiden. If you have time googleall these famous Bolling and Dandridge names. If you would tell me what you think?

Sorry for my impatience. Even the slightest hint of where the names "Ira Hendrickson" and "Williams" came from would be helpful to me. I know that "Ira" can be a nickname for "Israel". I would be so appreciative of any information you can provide.

Gina, do you have any info on location of the subject cemetery? The GPS info on web is incorrect, we've ben there. One uncertainty is in which end of Creason Hollow it is located - the end as you enter the hollow from Gimlet or all the way back.

Gina, I am hoping to get all of the children of William Hudson Ashby linked to his memorial. Would you please link Ida May Ashby Buntley to her father and his second wife, Ellen E. Ashby? I sent a correction request with the memorial numbers in it. Thanks.

|Angie Smith||RE: Neece Family|
Hi Gina ~ thank you so much for responding to my message. Was very happy and excited to receive your response. My lineage goes as following: Henry Neas (Neece), John Neece, Robert Newton Neece, James Ellis Neece, Sherman Neece, Mildred Prudence Neece, Carl Henry Nelson to Angela Nelson Smith. Can't seem to find a lot of info on Sherman Neece. Was told, by my Dad, that he was a Champion Fiddler in the state of Missouri. Yet, I can't come up with any documentation. John Neece was my 4th Great-Grandfather. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I just found your pic and thought I'd make contact with you. James Ellis and Sarah Riggs were my 5th Great-Grandparents on my Dad's maternal side of the family. I so feel like a sponge absorbing all this info. As a kid I never thought of my family past my Grandparents. I, too, have been creeped out ~ yet fascinated with cemeteries, death, etc. And I totally get wrapped up each and every time I log into Ancestry.com. I also find a lot of info just by googling the name of an ancestor.
I'm a California girl. I live about 65 miles south of Sacramento.
How are you related to the "Neece" family?

My pleasure, Gina! I've used Find-A-Grave for several years and I've seen your many postings. I've been meaning to post some of my pictures but never seem to have time. The High Street Cemetery is pretty remote and it was fun going there. I had to laugh when I saw it because "High Street" in England is like Main Street is the USA and this was no "Main Street"!
