This just goes to prove how small a world it is! I think it's amazing that she taught you mother! I would love to have a copy of that photo for my files if it is possible!

Allison, Thank you and all the people who found and cleaned this stone! I am amazed and so happy that it is found! Thomas G and Sarah Rife Welch were my husband's great grandparents, so Aretes is his grand uncle, I guess. We knew that there were two missing children, W Aretes and Henry Aora, but had no idea where they might be. I have wondered if they were twins as later on Sarah and TG had a set of twins, Maud and Claud. In all, they had 8 children, but only two lived past 21 years. Most of the children are buried in Altus, Franklin Co, AR in the Nichols Chapel Cemetery. We found the names of these two boys in a Goodspeed article, so we knew there were two more children somewhere. We looked in Siloam Springs, AR, as the family lived there for awhile, but of course could not find them.
Are you related to the Rifes or Welches?
Again, thank you all so much! I am so excited and can't wait to see the pictures!! Would you mind sending me copies to firstname.lastname@example.org? I would like to print them out and put in my Welch file, if you don't mind. I'll also put a copy of your message.

Hi There, I would suggest calling the cemetery office for a burial location to add to your online memorial. This is why there are so many unfulfilled requests, because volunteers don't know where to find them and the office at Calvary is not helpful in giving out the information to us either. Thank you! -Carolyn

Thank you for the welcome. It's great to be here. In response to your question, No, there was not a second name on the marker. I looked specifically because it certainly appears to be designed for two. But alas, no second name nor any indication there ever was one. I'm on the hunt for an ancestor for a client. I'll keep my eye out for Margaret and will certainly let you know if I find her.
All the best,

Sorry the information hasn't been updated yet but according to the cemetery records Michael Louis Riegel, Emile Schraemli and Rose Monica Schraemli are all buried in there together. A lot of older plots only have the name of the person who owns that plot rather than all the names of the people buried there.

Hi Allison, Thank you very much for the kind offer. I have been a member of Find A Grave for 13 years and 8 days according to the info at the top of my bio. This is a very good way to share information with those who are not as dedicated as you and I. I am very proud to see you carrying on this proud tradition in your family. I read your mother's book many years ago and although your family may not be as old as them hills they certainly had squatters right to them.

Thank you so much for posting Rachel and Louis. I am from the Dittemore family and really, I am sad that they only had one daughter who never married. The Dittemore family was a very very interesting line. Thank you.

Although I looked the entire cemetery, I didn't find his grave. There were many with unreadable plaques on the front and I didn't have time to sit and trace with paper and pencil. I'm really sorry I couldn't find that one.

It's a small world!!!!
Of course I know Jerry and Brenda Sue. It's been a long time since I've seen them but, I do hear about them quite often. My Aunt Billie Sue Wright-Lemmons keeps in contact with Brenda often. I would love copies of anything you would like to share. Please let me know the cost of copies and I will reimburse you. My post box address is: Debbie Honeycutt, PO Box 911, Mont Belvieu, Texas 77580. I've heard rumors that Elvis Presley is related to David Presley in some way. Do you know about this? I will look through my things and if I have anything about the Presley family or something I think you might be interested in I will make copies and send to you. If you can give me an address to send them to I would be happy to send to you. I don't need any money for doing this...I just enjoy doing our genealogy. Debbie
