Joseph and Magdalene Snively
Memorials # 26417791 and 26417812

My maiden name is Snively and in my genealogy work, I have been unable to find the grave sites for John Frederick Snively (December 5, 1783-April 12, 1827) and his wife Catherine Poorman Snively (January 21, 1785 or November 2, 1780 - January 3, 1856 or November 12, 1860 ??) They were married on June 28, 1810. Therefore, I have been unable to add them to findagrave.
According to the Genealogy book Snively-Snavely The Swiss Ancestors and American Descendent of Johann Jacob Schnebele, Joseph and Magdalene (Stoner) Snively had eight children:
1. Barbara (1774-prob before 1833)
2.Jacob (1776-1837) linked in findagrave
3. Anna (1780-1863) linked in findagrave
4. John Frederick (1783-1827) my relative who married Catherine
Poorman
5. Joseph (1786-1872) linked in findagrave
6. Magdalena
7. Elizabeth
8. Benjamin

Until I can hopefully find John Frederick and Catherine (Poorman) Snively's gravesites, would you be willing to add the above information in the memorials just as additional information? Also, do you have any ideas or tips how I might find John and Catherine's gravesites?
Thank you very much.

George B. Snively #26417692
I believe I have stumbled upon an obituary for George Snively. It identifies him as a Civil War Veteran, survived by a wife and children. The year of death is correct for this man. It may not be him, but this is not a common name and the location of the grave seems right.

http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn85038411/1916-11-07/ed-1/seq-2/

I might not be right, but I though you might like to take a look at it. He isn't a relative, but I like to honor veterans if I can.

Eleanor Duff McLane
Find A Grave Memorial# 26237971
Hebron United Presbyterian Church Cemetery
The memorial was added in 2008. The photo only shows the birth date for Eleanor. Her husband Fletcher McLane's birth & death date are on the stone. One would assume Eleanor had not yet passed. It there a chance that you would be able to revisit the gravesite to see if Eleanor has passed and her death date has been etched into the gravestone? Your work would be greatly appreciated. Eleanor is member of my extended family.

Loretta Lynn Layman
Detrich Family
Hi, and thank you for your reply. I'm glad you linked your memorial for Christian Detrich to his parents. When weeks passed and I didn't hear from you, I created my own memorial for Christian so that I could link him to his parents that way. I understand how busy research can keep you, and how valuable those labors can be. I've been at this for over 30 years now, and my efforts at findagrave till lately have been very minimal compared to the rest of my work.

Thank you also for the link to your page at rootsweb. I'll take a look as time permits. I have several websites of my own, at my own domain, but they relate to other families.

Loretta Lynn Layman
Detrich Family
These are my husband's ancestors, and I can enlarge their memorials from my research, including (among other items) the 1925 "The Drummer Boy of the Conococheague". That title refers to the progenitor of this family, Johann Ludwig Detrich (1740-1821), a German immigrant who fought for American independence. His Find-A-Grave memorial # is 26524055. At present, I have only 1 child, Lewis, linked to him, and I would like to add Christian and the others. Those that you have are:
Christian Detrich, memorial #26206785
John Detrich, memorial #26206935
Samuel Detrich, memorial #26414449
Thanks much!
