|Faye Meyers Cobb||RE: Myer/Meyers Cemetery|
Thanks so much for all your care and concern. I am in Bastrop Texas, near Austin. My Meyers side of the family appreciates it so much. I hope everyone was able to get some pictures. I noticed earlier that somehow we hadn't got the pix of Hannah's headstone on Find A Grave, so I added it - not very clear though - I forgot the name of the fellow who got it for us, and my emails got deleted (am going to find a way to access an old backup...).

|Faye Meyers Cobb||RE: Myer Cemetery, Jefferson Co. MO|
My uncle Herman Meyers went there many years ago. I have his letter back saying "on old Louis Myer place, iron fence around it, have to walk up to it thru some fences. about 4 miles north of Hillsboro, near a little Baptist church at Belews Creek -a little further down the road, to a driveway,with a house about 1/2 mile further up a draw to Myer Cemetery.
Find a grave says The Myer Family Cemetery is located at/or on Belew's Creek and north of Glade Chapel Road, Jefferson County, MO.

You're welcome. No, I am not related. Suggesting corrections from information on marker photos. Haven't been to any cemetery for years, too difficult, that's why I really appreciate this site.

|Joyce||RE: Casey Cumberland Cemetery|
I am part of a group who are restoring the Casey-Cumberland Pioneer Cemetery.
My job is to post the pictures and the info taken from the stones.
Cumberland was a small settlement on the National Road (now old rt 40) which has now become the town of Casey, Illinois.
Early settlers in the area came to get employment on working on the National Road as it came through Clark County, Illinois.

|Angela Gates||RE: Hamman Nauvoo|
I am not related that I am aware of to any of the Hamman family. I have added a few records for a Hammond family but only because they were part of the records I uploaded for a cemetery.
My husband's family is partially from Nauvoo, but those names are not connected to my knowledge.

|Ruth Smith||RE: Germania Cemetery Missouri|
Good to hear from you. The main reason I became a volunteer for find-a-grave was similar to your story. My husband's grandmother (Martha Buck Smith) died in Arkansas at the state hospital. Their records all were destroyed in a fire years ago and we have never been able to find when she died or where she is buried. Believe me we have made lots of trips to Little Rock and other places and have not found her yet. In our research we came up with 3 possibilities: she lies under the old hospital grounds in Little Rock; she lies in the new hospital grounds in Benton, Ark. with un-marked graves and we went there to view this area; and last she could be under the Wilbur Mills Free Way in Little Rock as they took part of the hospital grounds to build that many years ago. There is even a monument near it in memory of hundreds of people. So we placed a stone in memory of her next to her husband in a little quaint cemetery called Oak Grove near Hot Springs, Ark. The last date we have of her living was the 1917 military enrollment of two of her sons. They state she was their nearest relative. of course no one in the family remembers for sure the dates but I keep hoping some day a record will pop up. So I really appreciate your quest for your family and am so glad you had an answer. And, as you stated, if I can just help others find their loved one, it will be worth all the effort. Have a great day. Ruth

|Ruth Smith||Thank You|
Just read your page and had to send a thank you. You have done so much to help others find graves and I love what you wrote. I have been trying to do what you described and am presently "row walking" St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. It is a pleasure to do that and they take such good care of it, so it is one of the easiest ones I have done. Just took pictures of:
Fred W. Ringer (#179647471) and his wife and was able to link him to your memorial pages for:
Joab Ringer #26462075 and Sarah Eaton Ringer #26542432 at Germania Cemetery. From the pictures, it looks like an interesting one. Thought you might like to know that your work continues. Ruth Smith

|Wkenddad||John H Theismann|
John Robert Theisman Memorial# 113515605 was born to Benedict Theismann and Anna Hoepper on Mar 3 1895 and Died 16 May 1896. Looking at the documents from St. Libouous at http://www.stclair-ilgs.org/stlibbp_t.htm confirms this.
There are no documented births for John H Theismann in Mar 1895 at St. Liborous.
The census shows Benedict (Head) Anna (Wife) Bernard, Henry, Carl, John (sons) and Ella (Aldehide - Daughter)
Bernard Henry Memorial# 44063759
Johann Heinrich Memorial# 47783628
John H Memorial# 44063825
Carl Heinrich Memorial# 44063768
(Ella) Adelheid Memorial# 132953886
Unless Benedict and Anna had Twins (John Robert and John H) on 3 Mar 1895 there must be an error.
But even Carls DOB is wrong on the Census, he was born Dec 1897 not John H.
This is very confusing.
If you are local (I'm in So. Calif) perhaps on-site verification with the church

I am half 2nd cousin to Ralph Schaefer
My common ancestor is my great-grandfather, William Henry Christopher Schaeffers and his 2nd wife, Louise Buthod.
We are planning a Schaefer reunion in Loose Creek later this year in October where all branches of the Schaeffers will be asked to come. Loose Creek, MO is where all the branches of the Schaeffers came from.

Sorry !!! This is MY Family. And the memorial is the way that honors my relatives. Suggest your direct your request about duplicate to: the creator (Saari (#473989080) of very incomplete - Find A Grave Memorial# 142695217.
You might note that most of the flowers and notes have been provided on the appropriate memorial: Find A Grave Memorial# 154114905.
The 'date' of a memorial is NOT always the final determiner of which one is correct/appropriate.
