Eliza Jane Knowles Huddleston
She was my paternal great grandmother. The photo you have attached is cropped from an old photo of she and James Ira - an original copy that our grandmother, Pearl Huddleston Jett, always carried with her and is now in possession of my family. She had 16 children of her own - one died very young [is on 1880 census record] - and she and my great grandfather raised at least 6 of their grandchildren. The Alabama Gen Web cemetery record lists her as Sarah Knowles Huddleston and has different dates - don't know how that happened as there is a marker with the correct name and dates.

Rocky Creek Bapt - tallapoosa Co AL
Thank you so much for emailing me back. I am still fairly new with some of the hunting and finding, and kind folks like yourself help alot!
I started this journey with a old photo I found with no name on the back of a attractive woman, who turned out to be Mary Clark Thompkins. I did end up getting a copy of her death certificate, and she may well be unmarked.
Thank you again for the directions.

I am trying to locate an address for Rock Creek Baptist Church in Tallapoosa County Alabama. I am trying to find if there is a marker for Mary Clark Thompkins.... and I have no idea how to get there.

Jasper Seargeant and Jane Maria Musick
I saw a message from you to Elizabeth on 13 Dec 2014 regarding Jane Maria Musick Seargeant. In this message you referenced a will by Austin Musick. Could you send me either a copy of the will, a transcription, or even a book and page number so I may request it? I have been working on this Seargeant line for several years now and only now found a possible maiden name for Jane. My email is for private messaging.

Levi Harris Harwell ~ #75618126
Yes, u are the contributor of Dottson Harwell #13895522 and Nancy Blakely #1389552. U have linked them to Levi Harris Harwell as his parents. What is your source? "LDS reds., are showing Levi Harris Harwell as being the s/o Samuel B. Harwell and Rebecca Walker (NOT Dottson Harwell and Nancy Blakely).

Levi Harris Harwell ~ #75618126
Are you sure Dottson and Nancy (Blakely) Harwell were his parents? From other sources it's showing he was the son of Samuel B. (c. 1785, prob. Wake NC-1868, prob. Lauderdale Co., MS) and Rebecca (Walker) Harwell (c. 1794, Greene Co., GA-bef. 1868, MS?).

Re: Jasper Seargeant
Hi, TDB! Thanks so much for contacting me regarding the correct maiden name of Jasper's wife. After some checking...I haven't been able to find a source to support the last name of "Maxwell" (other than about 17 family trees who all apparently jumped on the same bandwagon). It sounds like Austin's estate records would confirm your finding of "Musick". Might you be willing to share a copy of "Austin's estate records" with me?? I'd love to include your source in my tree to set the record straight. Thanks again for your information and keeping me accountable! Merry Christmas, Elizabeth :)

Tex O. Harrison
Ballard of Upson Co. GA
Hello T. Dobson

Would like to know if you could help me link the Upson Co. GA Ballard's to those in my direct line of Coweta Co., GA.

My maternal line is from Whorton Ballard & Saloma Redwine. I did manage to fit the Pike Co. Ballard line in but so far not the Upson Co. Seems your James might be a brother to who I thin k ties all mine together that being Eli Ballard but it is guessing at this point.

If you have any interest in this please pick up my email from my Find A Grave member's page.

Hughes Family Research
I used to go to Carpenter United Methodist Church in Anniston , Al. I knew a Harry and Edna Ballard when I was growing up there. I was just wondering if you are kin to them. I know my family are kin to the Ballard's in some way. My grandfather was Jerre Hughes Sr. I noticed you have posted photos and other stuff on several of my relatives memorial pages. You posted a photo of John Thomas Hughes when he was a young man. He is my great, great, great Grandfather. His Father was James Childs Hughes. I have recently gotten into genealogy research. I have not been able to go any further back than James Childs Hughes. I was wondering if you might have any tips. I was also curious if we might be somehow kin.

Well, it looks like you are correct! We just got back from a beautiful ride through the Henry county backroads. We measured the two parts of the stones, and they are exactly the correct dimensions. If you want to do the legwork in contacting the appropriate folks, we would be glad to work as your local agents if needed to get the stone in the right place. I took several photos to show how they likely match, if you'd like them, email me at

I'm sorry - I'm just a cemetery groupie and my husband has a motorcycle. Guess what we do on sunny weekends? So we were just out looking for old cemeteries. I'm not related. However, we might be able to head back to both cemeteries and do some checking for you. I'll get back with you...

Ogle and George
Hi! I am researching mostly Ogle and George families, as well, which I see on your list. I believe I may have corresponded years ago with your mom or other relative early in my researching days, because Ballard sounds very familiar to me as well. Anyway, do you have a family research website where I can view your records and see if we are related? My family line of Ogles is thus: Oma Ogle->Charlie Clinton Ogle->Daniel Ogle->Moses Ogle. I think that might be our common connection, which would include Mary Ann George, Mose's wife. I have only recently added my written data all into Rootsmagic, and it is not ready for a website yet, but I am getting closer every day. :) Here is my email Thanks!
