Grover E. Powell
Mr. Covey
Grover was my brother-in-law. My sister passed away on May 30, 2016. Added her to the Find-A-Grave site. I am requesting that you transfer the management of Grover Powell to me in order to make a couple of corrections and tie him and Mary Jo together. I would appreciate it very much.

I also took pictures of the other Frantz's that were in the area. I can also transfer the one in Bethel Cemetary if you wish.

Thanks for the heads up. I just modified the "bio" to reflect all the factoids. After all is said and done, I think we'll retain the November 24th date.

RE: Jerry Covey Jr Memorial
Yes John, I will be happy to transfer. As a matter of fact I intended to write and suggest that. I am a long time friend of Stella's and have met your dad on occasion. I was talking with Tom Villers about your dad, this past Wednesday. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Levi Hartlieb
Hi John,

Ok, I changed Levi's information. Could you send me a copy of his will and probate record?

His wife Rebecca was my great-grandfather's sister.

Rita
David Lee Shorter
I believe this person is wrongly listed as being buried in the Shorter Cemetery in Mercer County, which is near Athens, WV. According to the obituary, David Shorter lived in Grafton, WV, which is on the opposite side of the state from Mercer County. None of the Shorter's listed in the obituary are related to my Shorter ancestors, and I do not believe he is buried in my family cemetery in this area.

Nancy Fleetwood Miller
RE: Hibbs Family
Hi John!

Here is the information that I've found on the Hibbs Cemeteries: Hibbs Cemetery (1940) - 6 miles W of Mannington on Buffalo Creek Road; then 5 miles NW on Warrior Fork on D.C. Hibbs farm.

Hibbs & Furbee Cemetetry (1939) - 1 mile W of Mannington on Buffalo Creek Road; then 3 miles NW on Dents Run, then 1-3/4 mile N on C. M. Parry farm.

Shaver Cemetery (1940) - 6 miles W of Mannington on Buffalo Creek road; then 2.5 miles N on Bartholomew Run on Clem Shaver Farm.

May be able to better locate these on a topo sheet. Stop in at the Genealogy Department at the Marion County Public Library in Fairmont.

Does this match with what you found? If you live in the area, it would be a terrific adventure to find and photograph these...especially the Hibbs-Furbee Cemetery :)

Thanks so much for all of your help with these gravesites!! It's been terrific having help to figure it out!!!
Nancy

Hibbs Family
Thank you so much for the information on the Hibbs Family (Arlie Hibbs, Jeremiah "Jair" Hibbs, et al). I have deleted them from the Hibbs Cemetery. I really did some digging and found that this Hibbs family is buried in the Hibbs-Furbee Cemetery just outside Mannington. I'm so grateful for your information! Nancy

Mrs. Sharon Marshall
Frances Laverna "Vernie" Price
Find A Grave# 118761384,

Frances Laverna Price Parry's husband was Charles M. Parry. His death certificate also shows "Hibbs Cemetary".

However, note the driving directions on the last sentence, "then 1 3/4 mile north on "C. M. Parry Farm", on the Hibbs-Furbee Cemetary, below.

Maybe this is the right cemetary. How would I find out for sure - is their a listing of cemetaries in Marion County showing decedant's names????

Whomever completed both their death certificates, did not make it clear which Hibbs Cemetary it was, and I do not know what to make of this.

Hibbs-Furbee Cemetery

Info

Mannington
Marion County
West Virginia USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Hibbs & Furbee Cemetetry (1939) - 1 mile West of Mannington on Buffalo Creek Road; then 3 miles NW on Dents Run; then 1-3/4 mile North on C. M. Parry farm.

Your Suggestion To Me:
Their suggestion:
-------------------------
Frances Laverna "Vernie" Price Parry is not buried in this cemetery. There are at least two other Hibbs cemeteries in the surrounding counties and there is possibly two other Hibbs cemeteries in Marion county that I have not been able to prove.

John

Frances Laverna "Vernie" Price Parry died in Fairmont, Marion County, West Virginia per her death certificate, which I will be glad to attach. Whomever completed her death certificate, put Hibb's Cemetary and that is what I went by. This lady is my sister-in-law's Aunt. Thanks for your note, I will check on the other cemetaries you suggested.

Della Meize
"Doc" / Dale and Marie Evans
Thanks so much for taking the time to try to locate and take the photo of "Doc" / Dale and Marie Evans' niche.
I truly appreciate the trouble you went to, and I know that the rest of the family does too! I am so sorry that you were not able to find their niche.
Your contribution to Find-A-Grave is so very appreciated!
I've been to their niche during the service, so next time I am in the TC area, I'll stop by and take the photo. . .I am so surprised the cemetery does not have a record of their grave! It is located to the far South / West of the restrooms (across the street) near the pond where the swans swim and on the back (west) side of the niches.

Harry Faus
Hibbs Family
I am Harry Faus in Fountain Valley, California. Your contributions to the Hibbs family in the 'Find a Grave' records are greatly appreciated. I arrived at this location through a message submitted by Judy Hamilton to Rootsweb in January of 2003. I wanted to include her family in the Hibbs Genealogy listings I am compiling. She gave a list of names that fit our family, but, it left out one name, her grandfather George R. Hibbs. A connection was not possible without it. I still do not have anything linking George to his father, probably Charles Humphrey Hibbs. I have already entered all the names included in the Obituary of Harry Lee Hibbs Sr. It would help a lot in my search for accuracy if I could contact someone who could verify what I already have, as well as fill in the ones I don't have. My mother is Julia Hibbs and I started the whole thing for her. I can be contacted at: h2faus@gmail.com Thank very much.

Hi John,

Bea is my Dad's (Robert Larry Thorne) sister and therefore my aunt. If they aren't related to you, would you mind transferring her and her husband to me. I would like to add pictures, etc. Their memorial #'s are 33045047, 32526316.

Thank you,
Janet Davis

Johnnie
RE: Steven A Chamberlin
John thank you for the reply but I was looking for maybe a few different photos, you see my family buried my brother out there 26 years ago and it is over 2000 miles away from where we all live. We buried steve there upon his request, as you can imagine it is costly to travel that far, so any extra photos would be appreciated.

Annis Downey fag#102843468
Dear John, thanks for the email. My information is from usgwarchives.net for the cemetery "Evergreen-Kiona" in Benton City. Under the list of names collected by Eagle Scouts through year 1995, is Mrs. J. Downey (1850-1919) "Mother". Is Evergreen Cemetery the same as Evergreen-Kiona Cemetery? Maybe I have the wrong Cemetery. If you have a phone number for someone connected to the Cemetery records, could you send it to me? Thanks again. Cathy

Winklers in Zion Methodist Cemetery
Mary M and Albert Winkler are actually buried in the Zion Evangelical or Zion United Church of Crist in Monroe County Ohio. There is a Zion Methodist Church Cemetery where the map indicates, but it is a separate cemetery. Zion Evangelical is located on State Route 536 about 3 miles out of Hannibal , Monroe County, Ohio.
