Daniel E. Winfield
Hi Vicky –
I have found several posts by you about Daniel Winfield. I, too, am researching a Winfield from Orange County, NY – Amanda (Winfield) Doty Marquart (1831-1908). I have no idea who her parents were, so that is what I am looking for. She moved to Tioga County, New York c. 1849 after marrying Benjamin Doty in Unionville/Minisink, Orange, New York. I just have this crazy hunch that your Daniel and my Amanda may be siblings. I have focused on a Daniel Winfield as her father in an 1840 Orange County census, where there is a female of the correct age (5-9) as Amanda. Amanda also named one of their sons Daniel.

So my questions to you are, have you done any DNA testing, do you have Daniel’s Civil War pension records, and have you come across Amanda in your research? I will be happy to send the family group sheet I have put together for her if you would like to see it.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you,
Pam Anderson -

Atwell family in Mt. Moriah
I photographed the stone for Louise Atwell today and also George. There were several other family members buried nearby, but not mentioned in either memorial, except for Hilmer. Their names are; Ruby Atwell Waite, Margaret M. Atwell, Barbara Atwell Hale.
If you can make memorials for these family members, I will be glad to attach the photos.

Harrow Information

I have just started looking, and came across all the information you have provided. Love it. My granny was Sarah Maragrite Harrow, from Calloway, Nebraska, she married Ray B Thornton, and her father was William Harrow. Would love more information. I'm sure we are long lost relatives. My mom was the only child to stay in Nebraska. She was Joan Nielsen married Alan Nielsen from Boelus, NE. She passed away in 2000.

Vicky Wiemer Tracy
Hello Vicky,
The obituary I found (from the "New Teller" newspaper a defunct publication)
for Cordelia Lucinda Hescock said she was buried in Bethel Cemetery. This is the same Bethel cemetery I looked in, and is a few miles West of Thayer, Nebraska, her residence at the time of death. Do you have the obituary? I would be glad to email or send it to you. Let me know.

Zarr mystery
Hello Vicky
I got busy with family reunion stuff, so didn't get out to Bethel when planned. But I have been back to check it out, and unfortunately did not find the Zarr's there either. Hmmmm. Maybe no headstones? But will keep exploring this.

RE: Andrew
Hi Vicky,
That explains the problem. I looked for them at Pleasant Hill near Benedict. Bethel is a different cemetery. I will check it tomorrow. It seems to me there are Zarrs at Bethel.
