Eleanor I. Sutherland
Been doing a bit of searching lately, and I posted a couple of photos of my cousin, Dr. Eleanor I. Sutherland here. My Grandfather Donald Sutherland, and her Father, Dr.James Sutherland were Brothers. Trying to put together a Family Tree, and looking to find information on my Great Grandfather Hugh Sutherland, Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. Thanks, Scott Sutherland stlawco7@gmail.com.

RE: James S. Sutherland
One never knows. That mausoleum was then (1929) about six years old, but the numbering system has such a set pattern that it is possible, but not probable. I've been working it for several years, and know some of the old timers there - and hear lots of stories. The numbers run from the basement to the top, with the double letters (AA in the case of the Sutherlands) on the uppermost floor.
If you ever should come to Long Beach, it is a must see place. The longest (tallest) Foucault pendulum is in the building. The stained glass window near Sutherlands is typical of the 'lesser' beautiful ones there; many are quite elaborate throughout, all done in lead and imported glass. Would cost a fortune to replace it today. The building has survived many So. Cal. earthquakes; it's built like a fort/castle. Anyway - happy to help. Best - cb

I see you added all the information for my great grandfather and grandmother. Is this something that you just do or are you related?

RE: Keller Cemetery
Hi Cindy,
Great to hear from you! We're doing very well. We're at Yuma, AZ visiting my sister right now but we leave tomorrow to head a little farther east towards Tucson.

You have to contact Larry Loy for the Keller Cemetery. There shouldn't be a problem seeing it but it's on his land (off Owl Branch Rd) & the road leading in is not very good. Sometimes (depending on the weather) a 4 wheel drive is necessary. Give him a call - he should be in the Jerseyville phone book. If you can't find him, send me a private e-mail & I'll send you his phone no.

RE: Caroline Landon Hutchens
Thanks for the quick response! Yes after I sent you the message I did read that some family members moved on to Kansas so I am more certain that your death info is correct and happy that you changed her birthplace from Kentucky to the correct state of Illinois.

Sincerely,
Roslyn

You are welcome.I looked for a headstone for Illinois. There was a stone close to his but it didn't have any marking on it.It did have a flower so I would guess that it might be her.I went ahead and took a picture in case you wanted to put it in your book.If you do I'll email it to you.

I'm typing up some Illinois obits for a webpage and they gave me permission to upload them to Find A Grave too. So when I checked her name and cemetery, I saw she was already listed and thought I would pass the obit on to you. Glad to be of help.

HI,

Cindy I will photograph this for you today if you can call the cemetery and verify he has a stone.

All to often I go and there is no stone on these older ones. However, since he is military, I am hopeful he has one.

thanks
